Microwave Oven Collectors? 1969 Oven Available

Forgot my point! I've been on the hunt for and early 70's Tappan microwave. This one listed is a terrific find. Thanks for bringing it to AW!

Microwave Oven Collectors? 1969 Oven Available

You'd be surprised I dived in to early microwave cookery on a quest to, as Amana advertised for their Radarange, "make the greatest cooking discovery since fire." You can make just about anything in a microwave except hard boiled eggs and have it come out indistinguishable from cooking by...

What to know when buying old wringer washers?

The first two or three loads would be "fun" But then you'd be scrambling to find a way to put in an automatic. Wringers need attention and went out for that reason. If your heart is set on having one, maybe you could do both? Have an automatic inside as your daily driver and a wringer outside...

    Kitchenaid Dishwasher Weight

My 2 cents You might get lucky. I say roll the dice and take delivery. If he can immobilize the wash arm, great. If its too late, that will just add to the suspense. Worst case scenario is you end up with a parts machine.

    Cookbooks and recipes

Neat collection I bought a few cookbooks in college at a used book store that were filled with decades of handwritten notes, remedies for everything, and various recipe clippings. One in particular I couldn't believe a family threw out. Mary B. Perry of Hayward, CA was either a real witch or a...

    House Beautiful - Circa 1979

I love old magazines Mainly for the great ads. I have a few boxes of Life from the 60's, BH&G from the 50's (really great), and a few random titles from the 70's. I go through them every few years and can't seem to throw them out!

Late 70's Tappan Microwave NIB (Los Angeles)

40 year old plastic is 40 year old plastic I'd want to take it apart before even plugging it in to make sure any degraded foam and plastic components were still in good condition or replaced. I'll keep an eye on it and might make an offer if they relist it just to keep it from getting scrapped...

KitchenAid KDS-14 weight (for shipping quote)

Wasn't the shipping The shipping estimate from uShip was more reasonable than I expected considering the distance from Chicago (Los Angeles). I just really don't have the room to store it (or work on it) and right now I need a reliable daily driver at home. I hope someone has already grabbed...

KitchenAid KDS-14 weight (for shipping quote)

I think I'm going to let this one pass Shipping estimates were more reasonable than I expected but the reality of my current storage and working space set in. It's just not the right time.😢
