    Excessive Drying Time

208 vs 240 I'm not what I would consider "electrically savvy". I don't have a multimeter handy to check the outlet voltage. All I can tell ya is that I know it's a 4 wire connection/4 prong outlet. The outlet and the cables from the outlet to to breaker box were both replaced by an...

    Excessive Drying Time

Auto Dry I always use the Automatic setting. I put the timer between "Energy Prefered" and "More Dry" for towels/bed sheets, and on Energy Prefered setting for clothes.

    Excessive Drying Time

Exhaust ducts Two angles of the exhaust ducts inside. I also went outside under my home to check for any issue with the exhaust line and airflow output is great. I set the dryer temp to sanitize, and the exhaust was HOT, not very much cooler than what a hair dryer would be on high setting...

    Excessive Drying Time

I have a Whirlpool Direct Drive washer (Model GSW9800PW2) mfg approx 2005, and a Maytag 7.0 cu. ft. electric dryer that's about 15 months old (Model MEDX655DW1). I don't know what the exact spin speed is on the direct drive models, but I know that it's significantly slower than modern machines...

WP Direct Drive Agitator Issues (GSW9800PW2)

I have a Whirlpool Gold Ultimate Care II, and am having an issue with the agitator. I have bypassed the lid switch until I get this issue figured out. When the washer is spinning the upper part of the agitator has a vibration/wobble to it, making the softener dispenser useless because by the...

    WP Dryer Motor Mfg Date

Can someone please point me in the right direction to date WP made washer/dryer motors. I'm looking for a used motor for my WP dryer, as the bearings are starting to go. One that I'm looking at has a MFG Date of: 240AF (see image)

Direct Drive 6 pad Heavy Duty Clutch

As for the cheapest place to get one, you'll have to shop around online. The part number for the heavy duty 6 pad clutch is WP8299642 or 8299642. Look closely, I have seen many listings when doing searches for that part # that are actually the 3 pad clutch (WP285785 / 285785). Check out the...

Direct drive transmission oil -- wrong weight?

6 pad clutch spring If I was to order the clutch lining only for the six pad clutch, would I reuse the blue spring that's currently in the 3 pad clutch, or another spring? I have some green springs left over from previous 3 pad clutch kits.

Direct drive transmission oil -- wrong weight?

Maybe I should just go ahead and order OEM clutch, or better yet a OEM 6 pad HD clutch... The 3 pad I put in wasn't OEM, it was Supco...maybe it's made in China like most everything else...

Direct drive transmission oil -- wrong weight?

Spin up time Would the heavier weight oil cause the machine to take a bit longer to reach full spin speed? Seems like it's taking a little longer than before. In the past the machine would be at full spin speed by the 2nd spray rinse in the final spin, even when doing a full load of towels...

    Problem with Kenmore 80

If neutral drain is functioning correctly your typical cycle should be as follows: - Fill (Wash) - Agitate (Wash) - Pause - Drain - Pause - Spin - Fill (Rinse) - Agitate (Rinse) - Pause - Drain - Pause - Final Spin w/ 2 spray rinses If your machine is pausing when it's supposed to, then it's...

    Problem with Kenmore 80

I just replaced the neutral drain pack in my machine, and there were times that mine did the same thing. Pump out water, pause, and pump again until the final spin was over, but the tub would never spin, only pump... Sure sounds like neutral drain pack.

Direct drive transmission oil -- wrong weight?

I may end up draining and refilling with 80w-90 before warmer weather just to keep the transmission temp down and take some strain off the motor. There are days in warmer weather that the laundry area reaches mid to upper 80s due to no A/C ducting in that area of the house. Winter temps...

Thanks for the replies guys! If anyone else has input, feel free, I'm all ears. Just don't wanna do damage to the machine; they don't make 'em like that anymore, and never will, unfortunately.
