and the winner is!... Simmons Beautyrest "Recharge" in Luxury Firm. The Luxury Plush was pretty tough to get off of...reminded us too much of our (now) guestroom latex mattress-feel. The Luxury firm provides enough firmness. Michaelis matched the sale ads for the Labor Day weekend. We got it...

YMMV... Agree with you, Rich, we left Sleep Number in sticker shock, went to a chain called Mattress Firm, still couldn't stomach $1500 for a coil set. Tomorrow headed to local mom n pop Michaelis Mattress. Keeping options open, but if one had to choose right now would be Ikea. Will keep all...

    Mattress shopping, input please...

We perused the various offerings @Ikea Saturday, personally I like very much the "Hogla" model ($479) vs their "Holmsta" ($579). She prefers the Holmsta, which has more padding, yet she wants some firmness...a few years back we spent over $1200 for a latex mattress...it felt firm enough, but by...

Using a Speed Queen FL commercial machine at home?

all business!... Just LOVE how it operates the spin...no (seemingly) endless plotzing round to balance! Our modern FL can be so annoying and still end up vibrating quite a bit...makes me want to get one like yours and have it the garage :-)

Hotpoint Lady Executive 18 - works great!

if you wamt to avoid "scrapping".... Just my thoughts, would work with " Hippie Doll" on acquiring your fine machine...that said, it will need work, so as suggested $150 is more-than fair...it may take her some time to arrange for pick-up...but if you truly want to avoid scrapping some patience...

Speed Queen! I love the look of the FS dispenser with the visible metal clip...to me that screams Heavy Duty :-)...NO apologies, it's a SQ! John Combo52 probably your best source on parts info for your Whirlie Girl...she would look lovely repainted in Coppertone, to complement your Tag and...

    Help with Sanyo SW-9000 P

A local thrift store had this on C/L for only $65. They claimed they had tested it of course. No leaks, pump drains super fast! Only problem, no agitation. There is a buzzing noise from this part where the water comes in (am guessing it is a solenoid?)...that shouldn't have any effect on...
