    Siemens WG56B2A41 - a review

So, I had a very extensive wash day with this machine. TL;DR: For most people, this machine would be a great upper end choice. I do think iDos would be worth the money. It is amazingly quiet up to the final spin. It washes very well and rinses just fine. Cycles are on the longer side, but there...

    Bosch or Miele dishwasher

@vacerator My post was (obviously) a reply to @simpsonencore 's post 😅 Context matters, and I think assuming somebody would read the thread in chronological order isn't far fetched...

    Bosch or Miele dishwasher

To be fair: That's called comfort rewind because you don't have to hold the button down during rewind - you press it once, the entire cord rewinds.

Whirlpool's revised models - what have they changed in the normal cycle?

3gal really is only reasonably well achievable with water reuse systems - but even these have faded from the EU market. Most Eco cycles now say about 8-10l (2.2-2.6 gal) and while those cycles do deliver OK performance, the cycles really do have their limits. The Technology Connections saga...

    Bosch or Miele dishwasher

Never had that connection - but yeah, there's a specific paragraph what you can call cycles now. Same with washers btw - that's why Bekos Daily Quick is no longer called Daily Quick, or why their "Quick&Shine" change name. And yes, ComfortWash and ComfortWash+ really do harp back to Mieles...

Whirlpool's revised models - what have they changed in the normal cycle?

Huh, I was under the impression, those WP diverters had a bunch more options. I stand corrected, sorry for that!

    Bosch or Miele dishwasher

I think they will probably be happy with that. I'd recommend to make sure the settings are adjusted so that the automatic door opening is activated in every cycle - it's only on in Eco by default. Increases the cycle time somewhat, but should be worth it!

Whirlpool's revised models - what have they changed in the normal cycle?

High temp wash: As far as I understand, there used to be a variance in pre-washes based on incoming water temp. I think they did more pre-washes if temps were lower in the hope to purge lines and to raise the temp of the dishes further before the main wash heating started. That plays into my...

    Help me decide

Regarding @launderess mentioning the situation in the EU: That's the one thing I really envy the US for. You just get the volume numbers for your machines, plain and simple. There might be a slight fudge factor from manufacturer to manufacturer, but you'll get pretty much what it says on the...

    Help me decide

I think even the 5cuft will be more than capable of washing any comforter I could think of, unless you really plan to wash a whole carpet... The LG dryers in general are not considered to be the slowest nor coolest running dryers - but neither particularly fast nor clothes bakeing like some...

    AEG connection issues

Not a network person, but with most home appliances, we're talking 2.4GHz Wifi, and not 5 or 6 GHz. Some routers use the same SSID (network name) for all frequencys. I had luck in the past with separating my networks with different SSIDs depending on frequency. But as with any wireless...

They (usually) advice you to just dose in the drum and turn off the dosing in the manual. But there is no physical dispenser, as far as I understand.

    Bought a new laundry pair

@foraloysius It does. For what ever reason, Hygiene does no longer go over 60°C. The Cottons and Towels cycle allow for 70° and 80°. Given these machines have a "service ceiling" somewhere around 82-84°, 90 probably does not make a huge difference. I think Hotpoints/Whirlpools offer 70° and 90°...

    Bought a new laundry pair

I sold my VZugs last week. The washer is still extraordinary. But the dryer just wasn't up to the same standard - not bad by any means, just no match for such an amazing washer. Main complaint was noise. If you ever heard a compact Whirlpool made dryer with the inverter motor - the VZug used the...

    Help me decide

In general, I'm of the conviction that with dryers, it's still a 'the bigger, the better' argument, regardless of heater size etc. More space means less creasing, simple as that. Unlike with a washer, even if you only use half it's actual capacity, you only loose a small percentage of efficiency...

4.3 cu ft VMWs: How did they Hold Up?

"had more or less issues than others, depending on what it was, depending on what it is" We are looking for a person. They had lightish, darkish hair, were about human sized, and had a somewhat gendered appearance. What informative content! 🙄😒

    Transporting new AEG dryer

Do you mean heat pump or condensate pump? Compressor is on the back left, condensate pump on the right middle/back. If it's an inverter compressor model, it's on the left middle in the base. Main control is in the top right. If it's in its packaging, that usually has some indication on it how...

In need of advice for upcoming renovation febuary or march 2026 including moving washer dryer from second floor to basement

Surprisingly, the UK had some US style dryers on the market over time. At 13A and 240V you'd get 3kW of hetaing power on those. Combined with the pretty much standard 1400rpm spin speed, dry times wouldn't be to ridiculous in that set-up. Still probably about 75min drying times, or something...

Samsung 220 volt-Vented Combo Has Been Delivered - First Impressions

With T-Shirts, I give them a stretch before loading. With everything else, most is detangeling. And if I got stuff in my hands already, might as well shake it.
