Hobart Presents: The KitchenAid Energy Saver V Dishwashers - 16mm Film

No heat dry was standard on all models in the 19 series. To facilitate better moisture removal, they beefed up the fan and airflow CFM's. It more than satisfies my expectations but there are some who will go into Ted Bundy mode finding a drop of water on a dish. Final Sani rinse went down from...

    KDS-20 Leak

You'll have to run it with the lower panel and toe kick panel off. I suspect it's the motor shaft seals. When these start leaking, water makes its way down the motor shaft and into the bearings, taking them out. The bearings will be loud from this point on until they seize up and trip the...

Maytag brake removal tool is back

Brakes are NLA and dried up. There was a new one on Ebay a couple of days ago for $400 and it was (surprisingly) purchased. Some may pop up from time to time but the days of just ordering one immediately are GONE. The brake tool used to go for $50-ish before discontinuation. I bought a couple...

Hobart Presents: The KitchenAid Energy Saver V Dishwashers - 16mm Film

KDS-20 was the first dishwasher my family got to experience. Moved into a 1970 home in 1985 and installed in the kitchen was a fairly new KDS-20 along with a matching Kitchenaid disposer with the Wham-Jam feature. Both of them were nothing but a pleasure to use! I recognize most of the...

    1951 Moffat Stove Burner Replacement?

He asked for $2000.00 + to repair my range. Highway robbery, that's insane.

Betty is Back with another Full Cycle Video the '49 ABC-O-Matic

Well done! Is it normal to agitate and spin at the same time, at least during its ramp up to spin?

    Update on the GE AW-22p

Agitators can nearly weld themselves to the drive block if they aren't periodically removed. A thin coat of Vaseline on the drive block helps the removal process later.

Large Capacity Maytag Outer Tub needed for A906

Yep, 2 size tubs from 1956-2006 for the helical models. The 200 series are all standard capacity models. An external picture will be fine, the lid opening size is a dead giveaway.

Large Capacity Maytag Outer Tub needed for A906

Might be a late model one. Without a picture, it's impossible to decipher. The outer tub is still metal but the tub cover will be plastic. A dead giveaway is a bigger lid and lid opening. According to this diagram, it shows the older tub and tub cover...

    Frigidaire Unimatic in Germany

Probably a once in a lifetime opportunity for members in that area.

    Update on the GE AW-22p

Looks like the rubber motor isolators and wheel have pretty much deteriorated. You can probably fab something up, like using innertube material, and make it work again. Does it run and run smoothly? Not seeing a cord in the picture. I always take these apart, clean, turbine oil the...

Large Capacity Maytag Outer Tub needed for A906

Yep, this is the old style inner/outer tub and tub cover with the band style clamp and seal. They are both the large capacity model. The bleach dispenser will not work with it but you could run a longer hose across the tub and modify it to fit the newer bleach nipple if it's that important...

Maytag Ensignia Washer Makes Grinding and Knocking Sounds Only During Agitation

It's the brake squeaking every time the tub indexes, it's very apparent in the clips. Check the brake.

Maytag brake removal tool is back

What's the problem with the brake? If it's making noise, it just needs a few tablespoons of oil. If the tub is indexing, that's kind of problem as the internal springs weakens with age. You may be able to shim the spring with washers to get some tension back. I have an NOS spring on hand and...

Hi, I am Dave. (Not Jesse)

Welcome aboard, good to see those who got their hands dirty in the trenches back in the good old days post on the forum. You probably remember when my set was brand new on the showroom floor.

They were, having serious issues with control boards, pumps, motors, U-joints, and seals.

    Tide Original

It will depend on your water hardness. I have a water softener so Level 3 on the detergent cup works great for the dirtiest of loads. Harder water will require more detergent but if you have used regular Tide powder in the past, I find the same amount works just as well if not better.
