GE P7 wall oven, clean control panel, replace screws

Cool. I like the control panel lights. I've never seen them on a P7, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. I do hope I can remove the chrome trim without pulling the whole oven out. Sarah

GE P7 wall oven, clean control panel, replace screws

Thanks, all I've taken the door apart before but if I recall correctly, two of the windows are sandwiched together in one unit. I might need to replace that. I'm not sure. And, of course, the manual is always a good idea :-) Sarah

    Sloppy Customers

@Mike  The therapy/service dog excuse makes me livid. I had a service dog for about five years. The Americans with Disabilities Act's refusal to create a national service dog ID or certification has done a tremendous disservice to merchants. Merchants are allowed to ask if your animal is a...

Remove Americana refrigerator cabinet for paint. Help

Colors Hi Lawrence,   I'm not sure about colors--I've been thinking white, but I've also considered turquoise.   I feel like I really need someone who knows how to take it apart. Even with the holes and slots, I couldn't find any screws or get the drawer assembly to budge. It's obviously...

GE P7 wall oven, clean control panel, replace screws

Hi Y'all,   I'm giving my P7 wall oven a deep cleaning.    How do I remove the glass from the control panel? And what about the windows? I need to take them apart to clean in between. Can this be done? And can I seal them with RTV or another type of sealant to keep them from getting dirt in...

Remove Americana refrigerator cabinet for paint. Help

I'm getting my GE Americana refrigerator ready to paint and need help removing the freezer drawer, the refrigerator cabinet doors, trim, hinges, and, if it's manageable, the shell and shelves on the inside of the doors.   So far, I've gotten the chrome trim and gaskets off of the freezer...

    Question looking for answers!

Baked sheets When I gave birth to my boys at home eighteen and twenty years ago, my midwife instructed me to wash and dry my linens on the hottest settings then place them in paper bags, tape the bags and bake in the oven. I've looked for the baking time and temperature online, and it appears...

    Eldon Poweride

A conversation with our sons about Formula One and Nascar racing led to memories of go-karts. I had two. I first thought of the AMC Pacer gas powered car that I had when I was about nine. I remember my grandmother, at my insistence I'm sure, driving it to the end of our street and back. She was...

FWIW: How tumble drying clothes can be harmful to health

P&G Both quotes are attributed to P&G employees. There is no discussion of the impact of synthetic vs natural fibers, and increased use of fabric softeners and dryer sheets is the proposed solution. I wonder who funded the study? Sarah

    My New Sewing Machine

Fun thread, y'all I currently own four sewing machines but have rarely done things more complicated than curtains, pillows and mending. My first, a Singer 328 was given to me by my grandfather for my eleventh Christmas. He had dreams of me sewing my entire wardrobe, but, when I wore the first...

    MCM Home Tour-Unique Dishwasher

Amazing! Thanks, Bill! This could be the solution to the old dishwasher debate we have in our house. Here are some pictures for reference if the YouTube video is ever taken down. A homeowner put the front of a vintage (nonworking) KitchenAid dishwasher on a new, panel ready machine. Sarah

    Wall Fridge Not GE?

Hi folks, Long ago in a land far away, I saw a vintage wall fridge that was not made by GE for sale. I lost the picture and can't remember the manufacturer. Help. Pictures would be fabulous! Sarah

1957 Built-In Frigidaire French Door Wall Oven

Already sold Mine is a later model. This one is really cute. Do any of y'all know an easy way to copy photos from other websites and paste them here. I try drag & drop and get a green plus sign, but the picture never shows up. The same goes for copying an image and trying to paste it into the...

Vintage NOS bed linens vs. new

Vintage all the way All of our sheets are vintage 100% cotton percale or muslin. I like my sheets a bit crisp and don’t want or need higher thread count. Sheets get their strength from long staple cotton, not high thread count. And what makes Egyptian cotton so great? I have no idea. Very...
