Why did the Frigidaire Flair and Hotpoint Hallmark ranges….

Oven above cooktop I've never used one of these ovens, but I don't think I'd like reaching over a cooktop with hot pots to get to my oven. I think a cooktop + wall ovens are a much more brilliant solution to the eye level oven. We've had that configuration for over fifteen years, and I'm never...

    Induction, baby!

3 + 1 I'll be waiting for induction manufacturers to take a cue from Corning cooktops and make a 3 induction + 1 conventional burner so I can use my Corning Cookmates.

    1938 Crane Corwith Compeer Lavatory

Pop up drains I got one from DEA and one from Union Brass. I'm assuming that DEA isn't an option since you've already checked. Try Union or Kingston Brass. You might also try [email protected] Sarah

    RUST ON FREEZER

Rust? John, If the fridge or freezer is rusting, and we shouldn't paint the edge where the door seal touches, how should we treat it to prevent it from rusting? Thanks, Sarah

Came across this in my news feed ...I Could Never Get My White Sheets Really Clean...

True confessions Sheets once a year! Ugh! A friend of mine once told me that people sleep under duvets without sheets--she said that's what duvet covers were for. Ick again. Now for confessions-- Yeah, we probably let our sheets go more than a week, but probably never as long as two. I prefer...

1963 GM Frigidaire Custom Imperial......cannot find owners manual online

Custom Imperial Congratulations! Beautiful ovens. I have a similar model in Turquoise with French doors. Have you checked Automatic Ephemera--that may seem like an obvious suggestion, but just checking. I know Robert has some of the Frigidaire tech talk manuals there. Sarah

    High efficiency Californiaquistan shower heads

Big puzzle Devices need to have a good balance between water conservation and doing a satisfactory job. I get a more complete flush when I dump 2 quarts of water from a pitcher into my toilet bowl than any tank toilet. Could a toilet be redesigned to deliver a powerful flush with such a small...

    Glue advice sought

Epoxy putty stick Most, if not all, epoxies will not adhere to plastic. You need to search for a glue that will work with plastic. Some plastic adhesives weld the plastic together. Sarah

HB Electric Knife sharp, turns on doesn't cut

Marriage is compromise I'd pass on the electric knife, but DH likes to use one for filleting fish and cutting turkey & ham. I will most definitely seek an American made one. Alas, John, I don't think we can recycle the motor here. Will recycle the blades though. Sarah

HB Electric Knife sharp, turns on doesn't cut

The title kind of says it all. The blades move when it is turned on, but it won't cut a thing. I'm thinking the blades don't move enough? But generally I'm clueless. Ideas. It's not particularly valuable, but I hate to trash it. Thanks, Sarah

    Bob Load Thread anyone?

I'm so proud! Thank you, Bob. Thank you. Takes a bow. Bruce said if there had been any more dirty dishes around, he would have hidden them from me. Son the younger says, "So, what, Mom, you need someone to tell you your dishes are clean?" Cynical child. Sarah

    Bob Load Thread anyone?

3 rack Bosch This started out as what I think was a pretty magnificent Bob load. Then I forgot to take a good picture of the bottom rack after the wash and included the skillet that had scorched on onions and cabbage. Everything was spotless except the large stainless skillet. The dishwasher...
