Whirlpool Direct Drive WTW5700SW0 -- Bearing Kit Replacement 285203

Hi All, I wanted to make a post that may help someone else in the future if they come across these symptoms. Last year I replaced the upper tube seal on the support as well as on the drive basket. I started getting leaks just a year after the install. On top of that my neutral drain went which...

    Whirlpool VMW washer

I will never understand the government and the regulations it mandates. I understand the need to conserve water and CA did have that long drought years ago (not sure if that has been resolved). The problem is while they see the side of energy and water conservation, having a washer that breaks...

    Whirlpool Washer Rant!

I'm sorry but is it just the normal mode that does this? I know it has the Eco mode for normal. I may have mis-understood you. Does the mixed cycle do this? I understood that it was just the normal (eco) mode that over-rides the water level selection. The manual says that only normal water...

    Whirlpool Washer Rant!

@pinkpower4 Normal Eco is indeed the over-ride setting. However some people as well as @agiflow have stated that it does this on other cycles. What is the point then of having the water level selector, to fool dumb consumer into thinking they have control? I ordered an LG front loader WM5500...

    Whirlpool Washer Rant!

Thank you for re-affirming this. I had thought someone was using the Eco mode which would in my mind over-ride it. I guess I dodged a bullet there. What is the point in having it? I wonder if the GE models do this as well.

    Whirlpool Washer Rant!

I almost bought the Maytag MVWP585GW until I read a Reddit post that even though it has a water level selector the control board may still over-ride the settings. I was willing to give it a go thinking that if works out great, if it has the issue return it....until I found out Whirlpool will not...

Should I get my old Kenmore direct drive washer fixed?

Like anything else you are going to have negative reviews on everything. People just don't want to take the time to care for their stuff. I've seen posts of the ringtub being cracked on direct drives. Like how on earth does someone crack the ringtub? Will these last as long as the older units...

Should I get my old Kenmore direct drive washer fixed?

For my DD, the parts are available, it just keeps adding, $40 for the transmission seals, $30 for the neutral drain which are wasted now that the transmission is done for. $150 for the tub, $40-50 for the two seals, $80 for the bearings. And that is if nothing else is failing.

Should I get my old Kenmore direct drive washer fixed?

I can comment that while these are good washers, you get to a point where you just need to let it go. I have an 07 DD and was changing the neutral drain on the transmission. I didn't realize that the tooth slipped out when I was draining the oil and after assembling all of it the connecting gear...
