Miele Spiders - What are they made of?

1000 series It is a 1000 series washer, which has only been around for a few years. It has a polycarbonate door rather than metal and a flat fascia panel. Also no removable lid so when stacking with a dryer is a bit taller than the traditional models.

Miele Spiders - What are they made of?

reliability couldn't agree more. the size/spin race (led in my opinion in the Oz market by Samsung/LG) seems to have become more important than the longevity of the machines. give me a base model Miele everyday at 6.5kg and 1100rpm for 10+ years of service versus a 10kg 1600rpm that will crap...

    Pimp my Dishwasher

Pimping Love your work. I think hotter water would help the cause also, perhaps you can install a secondary heating system to get it nice and hot!

    Recommend a modern/new washer & dryer please.

soiling you can adjust the level of soiling, regardless of the wash program or temperature. it increases the time (and I assume the consumption) but gets the job done. couple of the staff have them, will see how they go after a few weeks/months of washing.

    Recommend a modern/new washer & dryer please.

Choice test Perhaps they should have only used lightly soiled clothes seeing as that's the wash cycle they chose. Suspect if they had run the full wash the result may have been different. Next they will be trying to wash a full muddy load on a delicates cycle. Someone should explain to choice...

    Recommend a modern/new washer & dryer please.

Choice I try to avoid it, except for the basic info they can provide. Not so long ago they recommended a certain dishwasher that was soon after recalled due to it's remarkable ability to burst into flames. Certainly they can test for certain things, but if your sole priority is energy/water...

TL vs FL Give me a German (or Swiss!) product any day of the week. But they don't make TL. Enough said.

Carbon brushes, Direct drive or Inverter motors?

Miele base model Miele with the DC motor is quieter than an Asko induction. Awesome demo in the shop if you want to sell the Miele! TOL Miele with induction are super quiet. So good I bought one.

    Dryer efficiency...um, duh?

efficiency probably doesn't make a huge difference. would not be too different to it being under bench. as long as the vents are clear/clean.

    Neputne Still Made!

discontinued Maytag ran out of this stuff a long time ago (over 6 months, possibly over 12) in Australia. Whirlpool are just too lazy to update their website. Or repair lots of broken fridges. But I won't go into that!

New Miele G 5000 dishwasher series

lights in dishwasher Have a light in my AEG and mostly wish I didn't. After the wash I like to leave the door ajar for things to cool and dry off a bit more. But being energy/bulb conscious I don't like the light to be left on so I can only open it a tiny bit. That aside, having the light does...

V-Zug front loader in Melbourne, Australia

ahh well the W2888 3 years ago was significantly less that the $3,799 for the W3985, so that would explain it! I'll get the Zug when my 18 month old W3933 goes......... so in about 18 years I reckon. Any earlier and I will also be getting a divorce.
