    I scored a Reverse Rack!!

I've had 2 of them. Hated them.  They are super load, even when installed.  I can't imagine how loud yours must be uninstalled.  They were pretty good cleaners though.  I got in the habit of turning it on before bed, since the bedrooms were on the other end of the house. I never got the revers...

    Everyone ready for winter?

Thanks for asking Mike,  we actually just had a really bad week.  She's been in the hospital this week due to a really bad UTI and a fall on monday.  Thank God, nothing broken.  The UTI was pretty serious, 3 days of IV anti biotics and fluids and she was released on Thursday and is back home...

    Everyone ready for winter?

Mike, It's oil fired forced air.  Furnace was new as of last year and is much more efficient than the old one, which was 30+ years old.  Although I'm not 100% happy with it.  Its much louder than the old one and we sized it a little more powerful than the old one because the 2nd floor is always...

    Everyone ready for winter?

I can only wish my bill was that low and that I could keep the house at 70. We keep the house at 65, and 62 at night or when no one is home.  (programmable tstat)  We heat with oil so it's whatever the price is when I order it. Some years its downright painfull.  So far this year, i got 100...

    Honeycup Mustard

Love it!! We use Honey Cup at the store alot.  We make a turkey, brie, and granny smith apple sandwich that's delish.  Also make a Ham glaze with equal parts Honey Cup and apricot preserves and a little hot water to mix it all.  It also makes a great cranberry mustard, mix it with fresh...

    Holiday prep

I do not envy you in the task you have ahead. Good luck with taking care of your fathers affairs, it's a tough  emotional time.   The candles have always been one of my old time decorations.  I'm glad they still make them. You can always find some vintage ones on Ebay.  Some can be pricey but...

    Garage Door Opener Remotes

Yes, they sure will.  Just check the opener to find out if it has fixed code technology  (little tabs that set the code) or rolling code technology .   I bought a couple replacement remotes on Ebay for my 1985 Sears opener.  They worked just fine and they even worked with the new opener when i...

    10/21 Picture of the day..typo?

I don't think the pictures match the list of features on today's pic of the day, anyone else notice this?  To me,  and correct me if I'm wrong,  the pic of model 6703400 is more feature laden but if you follow that down to the description it doesn't show that.  But if you look at the pic for...

    Some sad news

Ben, So sorry to hear this sad news.  May he rest in peace and may you find solace in knowing he went quickly.  Cherish the fact that you spoke with him just yesterday.   Thought and prayers are with you in the days ahead. Jim

    Unique home renovation style

Ah yes,  the Crystal Meth and Vodka school of design.     The kitchen looks like a crime scene from someone being bludgeoned to death!

    GE...still my favorite

So while we're on this subject...just how long did GE make this filter flo. I was surprised to see that they are from 1968. My friends mom had a new pair with almost the same console in 1976, minus the light. And I lived in 2 places that had these, a new condo in 1991 and another place in...

    I've been very bad!

Take the wringer off when not in use, have a custom cover stitched for it, put a lamp, some Knick knacks and a plant and put it in the corner as a side table!?!?

    1972 is alive--timecapsule untouched kitchen

LOVE IT!! Reminds me of the kitchen I grew up with, except we had red/black indoor outdoor carpeting and Harvest Gold appliances.

Anyone else living without a cell phone??

"New" GE A/C on the fritz

Steve, The compressor is pretty quiet, its the fan that's loud, only run it on low as that's all i can stand. This one replaced an older GE that was perfect in the living room, very quiet but the compressor went on it. Sure miss that one.

"New" GE A/C on the fritz

That's a shame Chuck, especially being only a couple years old. Unfortunately, it seems anything made in the past 5 years is total junk. If you do get a new one let us know how you like it. I bought a Frigidaire 8K btu 2 years ago for the living room at Lowes and I hate it. It cools ok but is...
