Alrighty then good luck with that. Oh and by the way when you do eradicate AI please let us "brainwashed zombies" know, we might not notice that.

The 1938 Frigidaire Bolt-Down Automatic Washer!

Oh please, you've made it quite clear to all of us how you feel about the washer AI I "created" or to save your string of pearls "generated". However calling it a “polished turd” is simply your personal take, not an objective truth. In other words your opinion on the matter is completely...

The 1938 Frigidaire Bolt-Down Automatic Washer!

Not that it is any of your business but my post was written by myself, although built in browser AI corrected some spelling errors and suggested some grammatical changes which I absolutely appreciate. The way I use AI is absolutely sparking all new kinds of creativity, I 100% disagree with you...

The 1938 Frigidaire Bolt-Down Automatic Washer!

Hi post was not deleted by an admin (it wasn't me btw) because of the subject matter, his post got deleted because he used profanity about the AI in this thread.

The 1938 Frigidaire Bolt-Down Automatic Washer!

Your post makes zero sense to me what so ever. While the majority of us here love real vintage machines, me included, that’s exactly why I thought it was exciting to visualize patents that never made it past the paper stage. It isn’t meant to replace actual history or the engineering of...

Update on my 1950 Frigidaire WO-65 Unimatic

If you find a 1960s Frigidaire washer timer you can use its updated timer motor. The updated motors fit almost right but it takes a bit of tinkering with a few flat steel washers to make it fit tight. They are much more reliable for the long run.

Update on my 1950 Frigidaire WO-65 Unimatic

I use self-sticking closed cell foam that you can get at Ace Hardware or Home Depot, etc which you can get in the weatherstripping isle. Leave the original cracked gasket in place and stick the foam on top of the entire gasket. Be sure to get "closed cell" foam and not open cell. You may need...

Any positive comments for pre 1980 Norge/Wards dryers?

My 1965 Positive Air-Flow Norge made-Montgomery Wards dryer that I found 9 years ago was never used, along with the matching washer which had maybe 5 loads washed in it and was put away never used again. This is a great dryer and produces evenly dry and very soft clothes. It's auto-dry design...

The 1938 Frigidaire Bolt-Down Automatic Washer!

AI is getting to the point where it can recreate patents of early automatic washer designs that were never marketed to the public, it's not quite perfect yet but it certainly is better than it was 6 months ago. We can learn about the history of the design and creativity of the architects and...

A Dutch newspaper ad with a 1957 Frigidaire Unimatic in it

Unimatic washers use a 6 pole AC induction motor, most other washers of that time use a 4 pole AC induction motor. The gear reduction is only done for agitation/pulsation, spin is directly the same speed as the motor.

A Dutch newspaper ad with a 1957 Frigidaire Unimatic in it

According to the math a 6 pole motor spins at 1140rpm on 60hz and around 950 on hz, which includes motor slip.

Now for the Post-War model. The earliest reference after the war to the Blackstone was a nation wide ad campaign by Blackstone as it was soon to be re-released on July 27, 1945 in the Portland Oregonian... Next reference is found in the Daily Breeze Newspaper from Hermosa Beach, California on...

The History of the Introduction of the Automatics thru Newspapers

After that the next one I found is Houston where the AMC was introduced on March 15, 1948 in the Houston Chronical... It takes most of 1948 and into early 1949 before AMC reaches most states and seems to be widespread after that. End AMC.

Next up in the study of the introduction of early automatics is the AMC! Beam Manufacturing Company of Webster City, Iowa, began producing washing machines in 1937 after reopening the former Monarch plant. By the late 1940s, Beam had gained a reputation for innovative washer engineering...
