    Cascade Platinum

Platinum is a really great performer. When the phosphates went away a couple years ago, the weakened cleaning ability of the new detergents showed up mainly with cook and bakeware. Things that would previously wash completely clean, sometimes would emerge with a spot or patch of residue. Not...

    ISE Evolution Compact

We have one too and it works great. Powerful, quiet and no clogs in its 6 years of use. My parents have the KitchenAid version and they are quite happy. They have an odd drain arrangement that was prone to clogging with their previous home builder provided ISE "PRO". No more!

    HE3t

Hmm I had an original HE3t from 2001 and I seem to recall *you did have to pause a cycle to change certain allowable options *there was a prewash dispenser slot. (left rear corner of the drawer) Sounds like your machine has a dispenser drawer from a lesser featured HE3 *always had nice...

    GE Range/Microwave Combination

Have seen thousands of this style of combination range of several brands in Florida housing developments. Condo's, townhouses and single family. Quite popular in the 1980's in this primarily electric range state.

    Whirlpool dishwasher gasping for water

Jamie, the heating element should be submerged with the "full" 2.2 gallon fill. Sounds like you are not getting enough water. That machine was manufactured the 17th week of 1989!

    Ice Maker Concepts

Allen this may have been previously mentioned----while you are checking things out, make sure to observe the condition of the condensor coils and fan. They are tucked away behind the kickplate. If they are dusty, this can impact the cooling ability. This can lead to temperatures that seem ok...

    Frigidaire by Whirlpool Dishwashers?

Whirlpool supplied side by side refrigerators many years ago to Frigidaire, but unsure about dishwashers. L.P.

    Ice Maker Concepts

Is the freezer cold enough? Usually an ice maker in this application won't go into a harvest unless the freezer is +5F or less.

    Bubble Bandit

Nate perhaps you've got a little too much thermal energy going on. Recent detergents seem happier in lower temps......115-130f. So try again without lots of purging water at the tap & use rinse aid.

I think I'm going to like this dishwasher

Barcoboy o.k., if you have the tower feed, it is less likely that there is a spray arm bearing concern. Is the upper spray arm intact? The floating cone water receiver in place? O.K., the next thing I would look at is the "expand-o-seal" coupling that directs the water from the pump top...

I think I'm going to like this dishwasher

Barcoboy another area to consider for the upper rack cleaning is: *does the upper wash are turn freely? Sometimes the bearing surface the arm rides on can cause drag that can slow or stop proper rotation. This can be hard to detect, because it may seem o.k. when you manually rotate the...

    Miele at Sears?

Miele was available at the "Great Indoors" home decor centers that were part of Sears.

Kenmore DD Slow speed spin/drain issue

With some installations air locking could occur. Fins were added to the inlet and outlet ports of the pump eliminating the condition.

Kenmore DD Slow speed spin/drain issue

Does the machine have the original pump? If after checking for obstructions and the drain hose as noted above, if the pump is original, they could under certain circumstances become "air locked". Replacing the pump will solve the difficulty.

    Dishwasher Detergent Blues....

Whole house water softening makes the most sense of course. Who would not want the benefits of softened water? However, there are many situations where a plumbed in water softener is impossible due to the construction of the home. I.E. multi-family homes, condominiums, townhouses etc.

    Immersibility reliability

Paul, my wonderful 60's era stainless steel Presto immersible percolator met it demise due to water seeping into its electrical innards. Have another now and I am careful not to submerge the base. L.P.

    KitchenAid Toploader

Nope no radical changes. There were 2 versions of KitchenAid washers. The late 1980's washers that used the 180 & 120 oscillation per min wash action with the 1 piece wavy vane agitator & then the blue dual action agitator. Then the 1990 through 2007 machines with the Sure Clean big auger...
