    GREEN THOR WRINGER!

Wringer head Interesting that it was painted green. I'll need to find better rollers, and a "wood block" bearing.

    Kenmore at a thrift store

Plugged it in and... I think the timer is bad. The panel lights up. Seems like it's straining to turn the drum, but I'm sure a little grease and new belts would fix that. The drum is in really nice condition actually. The two door support cords are missing, and that latch/switch needs...

    Kenmore at a thrift store

Boy oh boy! So I show up to the thrift store bright eyed and bushy tailed, spoke with the manager, and he cut me a deal that I couldn't resist, $60.00. We plugged this in and it jumped right into action. The guys testing it out said they picked this up from a sweet little old lady in Pasadena...

    Kenmore at a thrift store

Bendixmark On the matching washer, what type of agitator does it have? I'm partial to the straight vanes on these early Bakelites.

    Kenmore at a thrift store

I hope... I hope they price it at a fair amount. Most people think anything old is worth a million bucks. Question: Why would the door be hard to open? Also. How would this be turned on, the dial that you turn to choose the amout of time to dry doesn't seem to push in. A back panel will need to...

    Kenmore at a thrift store

A friend told me about this knowing that I'm a nut for this stuff. The manager said it was a donation, and will be priced soon. Anyone know the year? I'm guessing mid to late 50's? It's missing the back panel, and I couldn't get it to open.

A lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.

Bigalsf Thank you, I'll give it a try. What are the chances of my finding a dial? The one that's on this is cracked. I think I know what the "Wash and Hold" button does. But what about the "Utility/Utensil" and "Full Cycle"?

    Westinghouse Electric Roaster

Well I used the roaster to bake cherry cobbler. First I set it to 150 thinking it was sure to be off and register at a higher temperature. I checked about 45 minutes later and the cobbler was barley baked at all. I cranked it up to 350, checked 45 minutes after that and bingo, it was perfect. I...

    Christmas Lights

Twinkle I agree, I loath led light outfits. Whenever I find early light sets at the thrift stores, I snap them up quick. I especially adore the colored "transparent" TWINKLING lights. I love how they twinkle randomly.

A lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.

@bigalsf; That's what I thought, but it seems stuck and I didn't want to pull too hard and break something. Could it be possible that it's stuck? Or do these just snap on really tight? How often are these "4-Way Hydro Sweep" type spray arms supossed to be taken out to clean the strainer? I would...

    Westinghouse Electric Roaster

Would anyone know of a trick in calibrating the thermostat on this? I set it to 150, placed an oven thermometer inside and covered it. After about 10 minutes I checked and it read about 225... The cat. # is RO-5411.

A lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.

Well, well, well, just in time for the holidays I'd say. Introducing my very own KDA-5G Kitchenaid Varicycle by Hobart. THANK YOU KEVIN! So with a new addition to my constantly multiplying ménage of mechanical minions, comes a myriad of wonders. How would I go about removing the spray arms on...

    Westinghouse Automatic

Stroke of luck... I don't want to jinx myself, but it's turning off and on now... Maybe it just needed a little use to get it operating again? Haha. Well I'm going to enjoy this for as long as it lasts.

    Westinghouse Automatic

Combo52, thanks for the input. I think I will install an "On and Off" switch, or just keep unpluging it as I've been doing now. What is usually the first to go out on these?
