    Westinghouse Automatic

After messing around with this outside for a few days I decide to install it in the house. I've come to find out that the timer knob when pushed in, does not stop the washer. Does this mean the timer is bad? It cycles through just fine other than that. Also, just how high should the water level...

    Tub index

Agitator It has a blue "swirl type" agitator, and agitates quick.

    Tub index

1970's Westinghouse Revvinkevin, I picked up a Westinghouse off of Craig's list, and from what I've seen on YouTube, it's from the 1970's, and it indexes. I couldn't pass it up, the price was right. It was FREE! Lol! Washdaddy, interesting, I have known for some to index, but wasn't sure why...

    Tub index

Question: What is the purpose for tubs to "index" during a wash cycle? Is this something that some manufactures strived for, or does this just happen when something is malfunctioning with the machine?

    "Name that agitator"

Norgeway I agree, the vanes on the "mystery" agitator seem like it'd really kick up a current.

    "Name that agitator"

Golittlesport You're right! I saw a Dexter wringer and the agitator in it is a little corroded. So I set this one aside hoping it'll fit.

How about this one? This one shouldn't be difficult to guess...

    More Speed Queen wringer photos!

Bradross That's it, that's just like the one I was talking about. See, the agitator IS different, its got a four vane instead of a three, very similar to a Maytag. I'm partial to an agitator with large vanes at the bottom, and on the post like the ones in a 50's Speed Queen automatic.

    More Speed Queen wringer photos!

Gpevas, mom11 Yes I did Gpevas! Mom11, Speed Queen did make green washers, but for some reason are very hard to find. Green wringers are my favorite. I remember seeing a green Speed Queen image online a while back, it looked as if it had long legs and a shallow tub, and big balloon wringer rollers.

    "Name that agitator"

Who here knows what brand machine this agitator goes to? I'm guessing this is for a wringer.

    More Speed Queen wringer photos!

Agitators Has Speed Queen always stuck with the same design agitator in all of their wringers? Black, white, red, metal, all that I've seen have always been the same style no matter what color, or material.

    GREEN EASY WRINGER!

Bobby, "What's NEW for 32!" Yes, it is a little on the heavy side. I came across an ad of the spinner you have I think. It's dated to 1932. It's funny, it claims that it's important that baby clothes are soft, otherwise you run the risk of scratching their skin, ultimately causing an infection...

Nice find These are really pretty. What type of agitator does it have?

    GREEN EASY WRINGER!

Whirlaway Yes this machine is really pretty in person. Do you have any pictures of your machine? I noticed that the suction cups on this have what seems to be a kind of "breathing" configuration. As the cups are pushed down, water is forced up threw holes at the top, and then redirected out...

    GREEN EASY WRINGER!

Hey Hi Toploader55, Yes I have been out of circulation for a while. I do plan on uploading a video of this washer just as soon as I tie up a few loose ends on it. I need to replace the drain hose. This might be tricky as the metal gooseneck on this is machine pressed to the hose unlike a...

    GREEN EASY WRINGER!

Hi everyone. Lookie what we have here. A GREEN Easy Wringer. I'm guessing this is mid 1930's? The wringer rolls are in great shape, and are actually still soft. No chips in the enamel tub. The pump isn't functioning, but may just need adjusting. Overall, this machine is in great condition. I...

Passing of One of Our Own - Kelly - Mixfinder

I can't begin to describe how sorry I am to hear of our sweet Kelly's passing. My heart and prayers go out to his family, and to those of us that have had the pleasure of knowing him. I truly am going to miss him.
