Norge Timeline saved from the bulldozer!

Looks like it should have had some kind of a back. Also, it appears that a kick panel is missing at the front.

Norge Timeline saved from the bulldozer!

It cleaned up pretty well with degreaser.

Norge Timeline saved from the bulldozer!

Ok, got some more pictures of it today. It has the lighted console so it's at least a 1956 then? I can't help but think it looks earlier as it has a lack of chrome like earlier 50's models (maybe it's a stripped down '56 version?). The model number loks like AW-400S.

Oh that poor washer.. How long was it left outside?

Norge Timeline saved from the bulldozer!

So is this one a 1956 model? I didn't see the POD on it.

Norge Timeline saved from the bulldozer!

Thanks guys! I still can't believe I found one. I was thinking I would be lucky to get a model from the mid sixties, and then this one came by! Cleaned it up after taking this picture, it looks a whole lot better now. I haven't tried it out, and won't until I replace the cord with a grounding...

Norge Timeline saved from the bulldozer!

Thanks to a tip from a member here, I managed to save this Norge time line washer from what would have been a nasty fate. The house it was in is going to be torn down and the washer as well as a Frigidaire electric stove were left in the basement! I had no transportation at the time, so I...

Still need help with Whirlpool DOM list

Ok, then 1970 must be LVA, as that's the first three digits on the model number of my Imperial Mark XII. So how can we determine the week and year from the Serial number?

Still need help with Whirlpool DOM list

I just wanted to know if I can determine the year made by the model or serial numbers on the belt drive models. I think on the Sears ones, it's in the first digits of the serial number. Same on the Whirlpool models or no?

    Maytag agitator removal

BTW, I made a strap with hooks that attaches to the center part of the agitator, the strap goes around a padded 2X4 that is set on the top of the machine, then I pull up on one side of the 2X4 and off pops the stubborn agitator! I pulled a few that way with no damage.

    Maytag agitator removal

I have an Aqua agitator from the last load of stuff I purchased from the appliance store by me. It has a 1977 date code if anyone is interested.

Still need help with Whirlpool DOM list

I am still needing some assistance with determining the age of Whirlpool Washers. I find many belt drive models during my repair shop travels, but am unsure of their age. Does anyone know of (or have)a date of manufacture list made by Whirlpool? Did they do like maytag, or am I just out of luck?

    Whirlpool Date List?

Thanks to Darrel Smith I have the Maytag washer/dryer date list for when I go part hunting. But I am still looking for a date list for Whirlpool washers from the mid 60's to 80's. Can anyone please help?

GM Frigidaire 1/18 Dryer in Michigan

My friend that's in the Estate sale business has a 1975 1/18 dryer, they want to get $50 for it (and say it is in working condition). The color is Harvest Gold.. I already have one in that color and don't need another! So, I thought I would post it here, just in case someone is looking for a...

    Christmas Bonus Run A muck

So typical to hear now.. Some big-wig accountant or admin claims to have saved a corporation all this money, then they proceed to give fat bonuses to the high ups and nothing to the little guy.. What about re-investing in new fixtures, upgrades, or just plain better maintenance? Nah, instead...

I made a mistake last fall

Don't feel bad, I used to help scrap out a lot of nice machines from the 60's and early 70's when my friend had a company that did residential/commercial cleanouts. That was from 1986 to 1993. At the time, I just didn't have the room to save them.

Parts request list for Frigidaire and Maytag washers

Ok, I found the belt. It looks to be used, and is the only one I have. If you are going to go through all the work of replacing it though, I would suggest holding out for a NOS one instead.

Maytag pair that I found last fall

Already have! Just put both into service this morning. Here is a shot of the interior, not bad for 30 years.
