Finally! GE Filter-Flo with lighted console found!

Wow Lawrence! That dryer had to be hard to find, it looks like an early 70's one as well.

Finally! GE Filter-Flo with lighted console found!

Thanks everyone! I really thought this model no longer existed around here anymore, the last one I saw was in the late 80's.. Just running the old GE today brought back memories of the one we had in Tucson back in '73. The pair were in a utility room just off the garage. I also had a workbench...

Finally! GE Filter-Flo with lighted console found!

Here is a before control panel pic. I have since cleaned up the machine and gotten all the crud off the lid areas.

Finally! GE Filter-Flo with lighted console found!

After searching many months, I finally found the (almost) same model Ge washer we bought new in spring 1973! The metal tag on the side reads WWA8430 CHLWH I believe, (hard to read) It turned up at an estate sale with a "NFS" sticker on it, alongside a newer Hotpoint dryer. Knowing the house was...

    134A & R12 Question~

134A uses a different oil than R-12. I would just find some R-12 on ebay and be done with it.

Maytag 124 find! How old is it?

Yay! We have a birthday! I didn't want a BOL washer when I went to look at it, but liked the access panel on the back instead of the front. It's different from the other 'tags in a cool way!

Maytag 124 find! How old is it?

My Maytag date list only goes back to 1966. Can anyone help? I wouldn't want her birthday to go by uncelebrated another year..

Maytag 124 find! How old is it?

Just got this off Craigslist last night, still works, but leaks a little at the fill flume. The picture of it is where it sat since the 60's! My question is how old is it? The letters in the serial number are SH..

Need help with 1966 Whirlpool parts!

My 1966 Whirlpool washer with suds saver is in need of the pot metal water outlet, when moving it today the neck and the suds return hose snapped off! 40 years of corrosion made the metal paper thin. My question is, where can I find one of these assemblies?

Frigidaire Washer and dryer for sale

I have a very clean 1976 Frigidaire (Poppy in color) Crown washer for sale, and an Harvest Gold 1975 Electric Dryer as well. The washer has all new rollers, and complete agitate arm assembly. It also comes with more NOS Frigidaire replacement rollers as well as some bearings, IIRC. The dryer is...

    Brady Green Whirlpools

I bought the "whirly woodie" at an estate sale last summer. Have had to do nothing to it as far as repairs either! The funny part about it was when I was at the sale, some people kept trying to open the front panel, actually thinking it was a door of some sorts!

    Brady Green Whirlpools

Here's a pic of my 1970 Imperial Mark XII taken last year. I would like some day to find the matching dryer for this green panelled baby! Until then, the '78 will have to do. This is one of the quietest wp's I have, must be because of that 3/8 fake woodgrain fiber board on front! :)

Need help on GE/Frigidaire front load washer!

Wow! It worked! Thanks Coldspot66! Originally, I thought I might damage something trying to get that belt on, but you were exactly right when you said it would stretch quite a bit! Now the GE is back to washing clothes! It will need a tub bearing soon though, but isn't that loud yet.
