    Introducing "Edna"

Pat....I think I have the matching freezer to that! That's a fantastic fridge and how cool is it, that it was just down the street.....and only 50 bucks! What a score! Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy! I think my GE Under Counter Food Freezer is from about the same time as your Edna...

Update: GE Under Counter Freezer usage report

Sure, here you go..... I think originally it was the Salmon color, and someone painted the door and the interior frame face harvest gold, and then the door was taken apart and professionally painted white with what appears to be automotive grade paint. These were taken the day I bought it...

    Servel Propane Refrigerator

Back into service it goes The buyers stopped by this afternoon to pick up the Servel and it's on it's way to their cabin, some where in BFE in the Central California Valley. I dolly'd it into the back of their 35' toy hauler (must be nice) just to make sure it got up in there without being...

Update: GE Under Counter Freezer usage report

Well, it's worth it to me right now, to save it from the landfill, to own and use yet an other cool/unique vintage appliance, and I have to admit, I like the functionality of the two pull out drawers.

    Servel Propane Refrigerator

Yeah, be nice to have that panel, because it's part of how they cool. It forces the convective airflow go move only over the tubes and fins which removes the most amount of heat, making the fridge the most efficent. But, it can sit flush against a wall and get the same circulation benefit. In...

    Garbage Disposal Deal

1.25hp is a monster! That price is crazy cheap. Gee, wonder where those are made?

Update: GE Under Counter Freezer usage report

Test Day #4 5.25kwh as of today, so the useage has dropped to 1.25kwh per day. That's 62 cycles per day, down from 70. Roughly $4.87 per month down from $5/mo.

    Servel Propane Refrigerator

Thanks for the new photos! Mine doesn't have a back panel unfortunaletely. Regarding the rust on the tubes, just scuff it really good with a coarse scotch-brite pad, lay down a coat of rustoleam damp-proof red primer, and then follow up with flat, or semi-gloss black. That's pretty cool...

old radarange on omaha craigslist- $25- ALLERT!

I've shipped a couple of them via UPS, They weigh about 75lbs plus packing, and UPS charged about $110ish to take the cross-country. Both arrived just fine. The RR-4 was definately heavier than the 2 Touchmatic II's that I sold.

    Servel Propane Refrigerator

The interior light is fed via a "normal" gauge 2 wire electrical cord. It's about like lamp cord.

    Servel Propane Refrigerator

Those are a treasure! Thanks for posting those. Very cool. Wish I had the badge for the front door. It kills me that it's missing (it was missing when I picked it up originally).

    Servel Propane Refrigerator

Was gonna ask about the flash cards. Wow....score on the butter warmer! Reminds me that I need to be more vigilent about looking for Philco stuff for my '52. I've already scored some spares for it, and it'd be nice to find more. I cracked up when I lit the burner today.....it's like a blue...

    Servel Propane Refrigerator

Very cool display items! If you can take a shot of the burner, that would be nice to see. I'd like to see that this one is assembled properly.

    Servel Propane Refrigerator

Thanks for the interior picture, wish mine was complete. Nope, mine is a 600. Just checked my freezer, and the cup of water is about 50% frozen already. End of test, it works perfect. Do you have any photos of your burner assembly that you could share? I'd like to compare with how this one...

    Servel Propane Refrigerator

What's the difference between the 800 and the 600? Maybe I should go read my badges again......mine might be an 800? Does yours still work?

    Servel Propane Refrigerator

Back in Nov. I picked up a Model S-600 propane powered Servel fridge. It was still in use in a rural cabin. I'd never seen one before, so it's pretty cool. I'm familiar with propane powered absorption refrigerators because I service them in camping trailers. But I've never had one that's...

Update: GE Under Counter Freezer usage report

Test day #3 4kwh as of 72hrs, so turning the dial a bit "warmer" than #1 setting has cut down on the number of cycles per 24hrs. It's still plenty cold inside, so I'll leave it like this for now and see what the next electric bill looks like. I think in the last 24hrs it only used 1.27kwh...

Look What I Found This Afternoon

Chromaliscious Baby!!!! Man, I am loving that!! What a score. I've also never seen one with floral pattern. The chairs with the diamond tuck-and-roll, and chrome hobnails are just killer. You really hit the jackpot. I like my green crushed ice "Virtue Bros." table and matching chairs alot...
