    missing post from Lightedcontrols?

There was a cool post of an Avacodo washer and new Maytag white dryer with the drying rack on top. Did I miss the post title? Was it in a different section? Or is there a problem with cyberspace/glitch?

Sears Cda. 1981 Catalog ad. Lady Kenmore

Another cool Sears Item I agree the control panels is cool. Coincidentally the computer in that washer looks to be the same used in the washer that was in the sunday parade Whirlpool advertisement last week (look in the Imperial section herein and for the post "lookee what I found") The side...

    Lookie what I found

It's called planned obsolesence companies trying to convince people to spend money on new stuff so they can make more money. This is a problem because it creates and promotes instability in our society.

late 1970's to early 1980's Fedders Norge washers and alike brands

nice machine. looks good as new. What a quaint laundry area too. like that big window overlooking the yard. Love the Avacodo. For having been "in the woods" the control panel looks to be in very good condition.

    Lookie what I found

I cut out that ad too: I had to look twice when I saw it. It would be like a dream come true to find this stuff at the curb. A harvest gold electronic Whirlpool washer and avacodo Kitchenaid Superba. In what appears to be such clean condition too.

    Awesome Pic of day!

LOVE that 1970s progressive design. No millenium grunge here! Now I have my inspiration for my own basement laundry. And what are these machines? Is the dryer a canadian whirlpool? Ca-k'ool ~

    Anybody want an Avocado Maytag?

NIce washer, interesting GE Dryer Love the Avacodo Maytag, wish you were closer. Interesting GE dryer. I have never seen one with the handle horizontal and mounted closer to the top. This must be early or mid 60s. Those doors were too flimsy to allow for a handle not mounted directly behind...

    Katrina and the Waves

Rebuild New Orleans, but somewhere else.. It sounds like the whole is a wasteland. I've never been to New Orleans, Louisiana but it seems like quite the place. I want to know how a whole city was built BELOW water level. Try taking a building permit to build a house below water level today...

    Nature or Nurture

I had a toy box on wheels that was shaped like a miniature washer the neighbors gave me. It was painted gray and had a piece of cove molding at the back on top that made a quint little control panel. The top opened like a washer lid too. The neighbors and made it out of plywood. it was painted...

    My New Find !

EXCELLENT. great find. complete with window. I thought the windows were an after market thing, but that looks real from the factory. You say it needs to be taken apart and cleaned but it looks like it just needs a sponge down and its as good as new. Our neighbors, in the 70s, had a matching...

    Turquoise Appliances

Sounds like this will be an interesting and fun experience. A fresh professional paint job will look great. Turning new technology into a flash back it's like the best of both worlds.

    Air Conditioners

Aww Carry-kool, my first AC was a Carry-kool. I think it was $129, 4000 btu with nothing more than an on/off switch. 1983 Be sure to use the filters. Condensers that are clogged with lint won't work. I've seen it happen several times. rinse carefully and don't bend the fins which will also...
