Thanks Ben! I got brave and put the Dremel on it lightly. Found a T. The letters under it turned out to be the location.

Can anyone help decipher this serial number? I know its a J, Square, porcelain tub, red release, aluminum agitator. Looks like 208448 on the plate with no letters following..then under that there are letters, but I can't tell what they really are. It looks like ON or QN under the first 8...

Dirt dobber nest removal. Fresh, grounded power supply. Cleaning up buildup around the bolt holes inside and out. Runs very quietly. Agitator doesn't make a sound, neither does wringer head.. I think when I get a gasket going I will put this one back together with new bolts/washers, run some...

Also, just learned that the center plates on my machines are not the same.. Is it safe to assume..ha.. that the one without the clip is the original, since this machine is close to original.. and the one with the clip has been changed out, since that machine looks to have been pieced together.

I thought I needed the ring.. I was wrong. Now I have to cancel that and find a gasket. has anyone replaced this with anything besides cork? would another material be better?[this post was last edited: 8/20/2022-11:56]

qsd_dan. Thanks! I purchased those manuals from Dave a couple weeks ago. I was emailing him about some parts, he hasn't responded lately. Definitely studying the manuals.

That makes sense, I picked up 31" belts.. against the old belt it is probably a half an inch smaller, but a whole lot tighter on the pulleys.. Should I try 32, 33 ?

I went ahead and replaced the belt, triple checked, it is a legit replacement.. but it is too tight to run. Can the tension on these be adjusted? I have read til my eyeballs hurt and can't find the info I need.. or am just missing it somewhere. obviously, I am not mechanically inclined, any...
