    1955 Philco Refrigerator manual

Hey all, My 1955 Philco refrigerator decided to die while I was out of town this weekend. The light comes on, but that's it. I did bypass the replacement cold control I put in about 10 years ago. It wasn't that. Does anyone have a service manual for a Philco Automatic? Any advice? Thanks!

New find Maytag a50/de50... questions and help needed...

Hey all, Just had to replace the washer belt due to user error. I shortened both up by 2 inches. 32" for the dryer (thanks John) and 48" for the washer. They both fit much better. I just wanted to update for archival reasons.

Is this the first Westinghouse Dryer?

Here's a 49 model. I want to say 1950 they switched to a black circle to more closely match the washer with the window. I'm not sure when the white knobs switched to red.

Is this the first Westinghouse Dryer?

It is an early one... It is probably a 1948-ish model. Their first dryer came out after the war as a 46 model. The 46/47 model looked like this... Photo from maytag77 out of the archives... https://www.automaticwasher.org/cgi-bin/TD/TD-VIEWTHREAD.cgi?57349

    Westinghouse slant front questions...

Hey all, Can I get some help filling in the gaps? Westinghouse had 3 generations of slant front laundromat. The pre/early post war model, the ~1949-1958 model, and the 1959-1963 Potato Pulley model. Guts wise, when did the dryers change up... or did they? I know there was a clothes dryer at...

    Pre-war automatics

It's more informal than anything. Curiosity if another manufacturer had an automatic before the war other than Bendix, Westinghouse, Blackstone and potentially Beatty now.

From my understanding, that was the first top load automatic washer.

    Pre-war automatics

So, imagine it's 1941, your well off and you decide to buy an automatic washer and clothes dryer? What are your options? Do they match? I know Bendix, Westinghouse and Blackstone all had prewar automatic washers. Did anyone else?
