    Servis Supertwin Mk1

Hi Ian apologies too for my slow response. If you can give me some measurements of the belts I'l see if I can match them up to any I've got. I did laughingly think I could look in my MK1 and check, laughing as I can't even see or remember where it is in the garage, though granted I do know...

Servis mk2 auto wash twinnie restoration-in progress

Hi Richard Sorry for the long delay, I only got to the garage this weekend, If the belts are the same as the supertwin 100, 108 then I've most likely got some belts, just a matter of checking the sizes as I got a job lot box full most unlabled of course. And again i've some castors but no idea...

Hotpont Aquarius 9926 Washer Dryer available £0

If anyone has taken this machine I do have a spare control knob that I'm happy to pass on. the only catch it's the cream, red and yellow logos on a brown dial rather than the cream and green as this model, but it would be fine if someone is just using the machine rather than a perfectionist...

    Hotpoint GEC Motor bearings (WM64)

the armature hope this gives you some ideas, I don't know of any hotpoint tool for doing thid job, I suspect they just sold new armatures. Soory not to have added to your threads Jae, but well done on your hotpoint restoration, you've gone to a lot of work, you can look forward to enjoying...

    Hotpoint GEC Motor bearings (WM64)

Tool for pulley removal Hi Danny and Jae this is an extractor I welded up out of off cuts of steel angle section a couple of years back, the bolt effectively pushes the armature out of the pulley. so as you can see it's a tolerance fit, the flats on the pulley are a bit of a distraction as...

    Oz 425 Keymatic

yes you're quite right about the practicality of a sudsave in the uk, also electricity costs weren't such a factor at that time. If you could afford a keymatic in the 60's you could afford to run it.

    Oz 425 Keymatic

interesting find Keith looks like they kept that model going on rather than produce the 3203 widebody keymatic. The drum looks more like the size of the outer tub in the section view, on the 2nd photo. If this is the complete brochure, nothing is mentioned of the dual wash action, or at least...

Hotpoint Supermatic 1400 - My Christmas Pressie!

Well done James No more nightmares of dripping clothes on washdays for you James, iron dry out of a supermatic. So pleased you've got it and and that you have the skills to get it running back to full working order, I know you'll love using it. Nothing quite like the acceleration of that...

    Bendix 7168

Hi Steve great to see you get stuck into another restoration, yes just like a corned beef tin. Interesting this is the clamping method used for the boot on the bendix LT, so maybe a bit of mix and match over the years. Also Steve if you need a boot I may well have a spare. Mathew

How old is my twin tub?

May 1982 That's model T5042, 2 meaning 1982 and 05 meaning May followed by the rest of the serial number. Pleased to see you've got it running well, I prefer this colour scheme over the darker T5044, I have used the deluxe version, but I personally don't like the dark brown colour scheme. I...

Hoover Twin Tub: Will the Resilient Bearing's rubber tolerate petroleum-based grease?

yes I do see what you're saying though from my years experience of these machines, the rubber has either dried out and perished or the bearing seized and ripped the rubber where the bellow fold is. So whilst your right in considering the damage from the grease getting into contact with the...

Hoover Twin Tub: Will the Resilient Bearing's rubber tolerate petroleum-based grease?

Hi Wishywashy as it's the brass bush you would be lubricating then any grease suitable for that would be ok, as it wouldn't be in contact with the rubber of the mount anyway. If your not going to strip the unit down and grease the shaft, then a quick second best would be to turn the machine...

    Servis Supertwin 100

Oh James, your a lucky lad I've got a wreck of a supertwin 100 with a great condition control panel, what were the chances? Got a call last weekend from a friend who was at a house clearence warehouse, said they had a servis twintub, but it was a wreck, cabinet rusty and the hoses just fell...

Old Washing Machines Are Less Efficient and Consume More Energy

I see Mike yes just dropping the water levels and not adjusting other factors, such a inter rinse spins and not fully clearing water spun out before progressing to next rinse. Another factor I have often seen on my repair rounds, is people using the wrong programmes for the clothes to be...
