the spring just goes between the two arms that hold the jockey wheels, there is no spring to the base of the machine.

Hi Jack put the belt around the drum and motor pulley first, then spread the idler/jockey pulleys either side of the belt, so in effect the belt runs between them. Hope that helps, one of the best performing dryers there, great you're repairing it. Mathew
