Andrew congrats on your new dishwasher. The slots in the main wash cup of the detergent dispenser; permit water to flush through in the event the lid cannot fully open. This can occur when a "mis-loaded" item blocks the lid. There is a diagram of this in the use and care. Enjoy! L.P.

Peter some GE machines don't have a tub mounted power shower. So this upper rack tower serves that purpose. There is a vertical jet of water from the power tower that is diffused over the top of upper rack by the upper rack spray tube.

Looks like a service replacement rack in an older unit. I've seen this style of rack in recent / new GE standard tub machines.

A really sweet machine! If that is the dryer I think it is, the drum is a couple of inches deeper than the traditional GE model. The electric version had the heating element in a duct under the drum. Additionally, the drum has plastic baffles instead of the formed porcelainized steel. GE...

Brent isn't there are a 'purge' after the main wash? When I had my KD24 it performed this cycle sequence on Normal w/hi temp: Prewash-Heated wash-purge-heated final rinse-dry.

Whirlpool small crescent ice fit into drinkware nicely. They float in your beverage and don't cause dribble. Of course it can be crushed if you prefer.
