    Rescued KUDS25 Dishwasher

Forgot to mention... My machine also would occasionally dump the main wash detergent early when using Soak & Scrub or Anti-Bacterial when a 2nd prewash was required. It would dump the detergent in the 2nd prewash, start to heat, then would drain from what I assume was a pressure switch trip. I...

    Rescued KUDS25 Dishwasher

You are a SAINT! Under very unfortunate circumstances, I had to leave my KUDS25 just like yours behind. It was seriously very hard to do, but was done for personal safety and happiness. However, it was seriously the best dishwasher I have ever used. As they become harder to find, I wonder if I...

    Getting odors out of clothing

Odor First, I highly recommend cleaning the washer with 1 cup citric acid and letting it soak for a while in hot. That will never hurt. Second, I find the best thing for odor removal, especially smoke, is hot washes. So with loads that are colorfast that is what I would do. However, I have...

LG WM3600 cycle times are SLLOOOOWWWWWW.

WM3400 The one I used allowed me to see the water temp, but I had to hold it for a prolonged period of time. I forget the sequence, might be cold wash and temp. If you just use Towels, there is no need to adjust the water level. That way the other cycles aren’t affected, like bulky or...

LG WM3600 cycle times are SLLOOOOWWWWWW.

Towels For the most part, yes. Only Sanitize for a true hot wash. Delicates or Handwash for other items. This applied for many LG FLs I use. My Kenmore doesn’t have the Towels cycle, so I did adjust the water level up to what it would be with Towels. Much better. The wash and rinse levels on...

LG WM3600 cycle times are SLLOOOOWWWWWW.

First off… Congrats! As you have experienced, some cycles can be a bit slow. BUT, the Normal cycle with Extra Hot does heat the water up. If your tap hot water isn’t high enough or the water heater is far away, it will take longer. The Towels cycle is much better than Normal, IMHO. Much...

what would be your dream vintage dishwasher to own and use in 2023

KUDS25 I miss this machine quite a bit. Leaving it behind was not easy. Flawless performance, incredible drying, quick cycles, and solid build quality. Even with very hard water it always impressed me. Not too many compromises either. It isn’t a Hobart machine, though.

The Future of Builder Grade Dishwashers is Here

No dishwasher IDK, the Samsung that we had at our rental was just as bad as not having a dishwasher. It really required 2x the work.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone. Turkey Day Bob Loads .

Bosch load size I could stuff more in my Bosch compared to any other dishwasher I have owned or used, as well. I removed the cutlery basket from the first rack and it opens up loads of space. The Auto cycle is the shit! I couldn't imagine using Auto with Extra Scrub or Crystal Dry.

    California Electricity Dilemma

Electricity I am all for green energy, however it will not be feasible to require a quick mandate like California. I do foresee issues with the power grids and costs to build new infrastructure that the increase in demand will require. I am a big fan of nuclear energy, though it has a rather...

    Active Washer Cleaner Tablets

Active tabs I have seen these advertisements and videos fairly frequently recently. I have used dishwasher tablets with limited success. But nothing compares to using raw citric acid purchased from Amazon. 1 cup of citric acid and a clean washer cycle removes more hard water minerals and gunk...

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone. Turkey Day Bob Loads .

chachp The same happened to me! Wouldn't be much fun though, since we recently moved and now are using my grandparent's old anemic Frigidaire. We ran two loads that night, and it actually does well, but has an issue with filtration because of the warped plastic filter and the very slow heating...

    Agitator/Impeller swap

Does anyone know if the impeller/agitator from the Maytag MVWC465HW fit in the Maytag MVWC565FW? My grandparents recently purchased this machine, and the older style washplate in the MVWC465HW is significantly better than the newer design. I would like to swap it out if possible. Thanks.

    laundry pet peevs

Pet Peeves Mixing colors and every type of fabric in one load. People using spray rinses (not selecting fabric softener option). Using cheap detergent Washing loads in cold when it is inappropriate. Using every additive under the sun, but still washing in cold. Refusing to use any other...

Rewearing clothes -- many times, never, or somewhere in the middle?

It depends I usually wear sweatshirts and pants until they are dirty, smell, or have any particular reason to be washed. With t-shirts, underwear, and socks, they are washed every time. Towels are usually used until they are visibly soiled or smell (Lol), usually a week. Sheets are weekly.

the dishwasher detergent thing and the bleach

Detergent Currently using Kirkland Premium pacs, but I have a bottle of Cascade bleach gel. We have very hard water and with heavily soiled loads I will put the Costco pac in the silverware basket and the Cascade in the dispenser. It actually makes a great combo. Our only issue with stains are...

    Smelly laundry: TMI

Bleach and Septic Bleach breaks down surprisingly quickly. If the load wasn’t colors, that’s what I would recommend. Ammonia is gonna be effective.

    When did P&G fabric softeners....

nauseating It has been a while. The only Downy we purchase is Clean Breeze. Original Gain isn't horrible, but is just too strong. Otherwise, you are correct, all other softeners are too strong or smell like candy. I would really like to try Lenor Spring Awakening, but as you said it is pricey...

    Are laundry sanitizers worth it?

Laundry Sanitizers I prefer the OxiClean Laundry Sanitizer. It is used in the wash instead of the rinse, so the product is rinsed out and has longer time to work. Though, washing and drying the clothes will likely do the trick.
