Detergents making weird stains

stains The picture doesn't do it as much justice as it likely does in person, though the stains in the first pic are certainly visible, the second and third looks like there are some pit stains? That would be an odd spot if you are wearing an undershirt. I do second running a higher temperature...

Adjustable water upgrade for Electrolux ELFW7437AW Washer 2024

water level Do all the cycles do this? For instance, whites cycles generally use a little more water and more accurate water temperatures.

    LG Front Washer Cycles Explained

spin speed My machine alters spin speeds on its own as well. Extra High on Normal can vary from 1011 to 1258 rpm. The smaller the load size, the quicker the machine spins in my experience (yes, that is correct). Time seems consistent. Whites and Sanitary seem to run 1098 rpm on Extra High...

    LG Front Washer Cycles Explained

cycles The Normal cycle is something you should avoid for the most part. The Whites cycle is actually a great alternative. You can reduce the soil level down to light and still have great results. It does use slightly more aggressive tumble pattern, but...

    What do you guys think?

Thomas I am interested. If you need pilot machines for people to test, I would actually like to do that. Though, I am worried about price cutting, but I understand the target market.

    Dishwashers Making People Sick?

Largely true, though exaggerated. New dishwasher main wash and final rinse temps are too low. Most people run the Normal cycle and largely scrape and rinses dishes to the point that the sensor machines won’t run a more aggressive cycle. As others have said, no more chlorine bleach in...

    New Detergent Ratings

Frigilux Frigilux- Really? I am shocked by that. Usually I notice a fair bit of decline with anything less than warm/40°C. It doesn’t look like they have reformulated them recently either (thankfully). David- I will say, the Persil Sensitive is quite good. I can’t say if performance decrease...

    New Detergent Ratings

Powders & Persil Not sure testing powders would do them any justice, though. Since they are tested in cold/cool water at 75°F, most powders would not perform nearly as well as liquids at that given temp. If they were tested in warm or hot, that’s were the power comes out. Side note, I was...

    KDTM604KPS

Heated dry time It depends. Adding Heated Dry can add anywhere from 8 to 24 minutes in my experience. Extended pro dry is about an additional 20-30 minutes on top of that.

What's everyone using for laundry detergent these days?

Tide powder Odd enough. I am getting sick of the Tide Oxi pods and Tide White and Bright Oxi liquid we have now. Just way too strong. I can’t stand that the only good scent Tide (P&G for that matter) is Mountain Spring Tide powder. Now that they stopped making Persil Odor Fighter, I really...

1 year update For people who have followed this thread and dishwasher design, I wanted to give an update to you all. After owning and using this machine for the last year, I can safely say that this is the best dishwasher I have ever used. I have yet to have anything come out of the machine...

Anyone want my kitchenaid whisper quiet ultima superba?

Likely underfilling Very well could be an easy fix. I would check the inlet valve screen first before replacing it. However, it might be worth checking the bearing for the lower spray arm as well. Mine was bad initially and caused the machine to have poor wash performance, though shouldn’t...

Want? Oh yeah I want it. Though, no space... Praying it goes to a good home.

Toyota engine recall:3.4 v6 twin turbo

V35A While these engines are having serious issues, Toyota is actually recalling them and fixing them. Certain manufacturers would never do this. They are actively trying to fix this from happening by doing the recall. If anything, that does build more confidence back up. I know a few that have...

    over sudsing/excess foam

Sudsing I had issues with my Point Voyager when using rinse aid. It was bad enough where I couldn’t use it because it released a small amount during the main wash and caused crazy sudsing issues regardless of detergent. Cascade action Pacs did foam up bad, but didn’t hinder performance as long...

    Warm Rinse Suds

Warm rinse It absolutely rinses better. I have been trying to run a hose from a sink into the Kenmore’s dispenser during the final rinse. The warm water dissolves and breaks down detergent residue much better. I feel like the difference on towels is noticeable.

    AI in laundry...

AI My Kenmore/LG does it to an extent. It will reduce tumble speed, prolong tumbles, and alter spin speed based on load size after the initial sensing. The older machines just adjusted wash and rinse time, as well as add more time for balancing. The program for a large/full load is actually...

It's That Time Of Year Again! What Is Your AC Thermostat Set To?

ac off when not home Ours would take far too long to get to appropriate temp if we would turn it off when we are not home, especially when it has been mid 90s lately. Our house is not all that well insulated. Plus, better humidity control is far worth the cost, IMHO. We could probably get away...

temps 72 during the day, 71 at night. Would be a degree cooler if I had more control. Winter is usually 68.

home alone While it certainly is nice and has a fair bit of updates, I agree that the house now feels cold and sterile. I prefer the way it was before.
