This is off a GE/Hotpoint similar to the one my mother bought in 1986. It was called the "handwash agitator". It was great for the very delicate washables. It was popular on machines purchased between 1983 (I think)until 1995 when the machines were re-tooled.

June 28, 2005 I did an MSN photo search and typed in GE Washer. I was referred to this site and classicappliances.com which evidently no longer exists. I joined about three weeks later.

I am curious if the newest direct drive washers still spray rinse.

My mother's older sister had a 1972 Montgomery Ward pair and the washer sounded just like this. The machine died in 1986, so I was still young. I always wondered what made the whip noise. It was a noisy machine. I hope you will share more videos of this machine.

I'm sorry to tell you this, but I've never seen any such thing. And believe me, I've looked. Your choices in full size are pretty much a 220 electric dryer, a 110 dryer with gas as the fuel source for the burner, or a compact dryer using 110 volts, and probably containing no more than 1800 watts...
