    WHAT would YOU do?

We hate all the screen controls too. Like hard buttons for climate control, heated seats. I'm surprised ours still has a radio volume and tuning knob.

    WHAT would YOU do?

Dave, I won't sacrifice a power seat or heated seats. I can live without a panoramic roof. Current vehicle has a heated steering wheel too. Nice. Heats quickly and can be shut off. I don't care for Buicks newer styling themes. In my opinion, the last real Buick was the Lacrosse. Maybe the last...

    History of Automotive Side Windows

Many liked the side vent windows that went away by 1970-71 except for the AMC Ambassador and Matador sedan. Ford made them a power option from 73 to 78 on full size cars.

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

Most in the UK didn't have either funds or space for a dishwasher. WW2 recovery may be partly why. My sister was there in the 80's, and told me few had a microwave oven yet.

Dishwashers losing popularity in US Homes???

Our son and future daughter in law came for supper yesterday. I filled the rinse aid dispenser before the prior load. It looked empty when I loaded it yesterday?? Fortunately no spots on the good stainless flatware or china.

Tomorrows dinner is almost ready for the oven. it will be even better tomorrow. Less work and fuss, just reheat. Garage is cold enough for overnight. I'm not a bad cook or baker, but my hubby is better. Since retiring last year, he enjoys it more.

    NYT on Induction Cooking

Oh, I also know many who died of cancer from working in factories like Carboloy when owned by GE making carbon/brass/nickel/etc. compound machine cutting bits. Seiko tools of Sweden bought it, then closed it. Then it became an EPA Superfund cleanup site. A solar powered trash compacting bin...

    Money for bad dishwasher board.

Thank you Combo. The right hand side is against a cabinet. The cardboard has been long gone. It was very flimsy. Not like GE used in the 80's. The fridge doesn't owe us anything. Our neighbors have a newer GE in their basement and it's been fine for several years. Their kitchen fridge is a 81/2...

Do I have neutral drain ?

Iron and steel making quality is far better now. I had uncles who worked in the steel industry from the 1940's through 1980, a high school buds dad, and my brother until he became an electrician. Crucible steel, Colt industries, J&L, Allegheny Ludlam, and Great Lakes National/US. The auto...

Co2 yes, and any type of fuel off gas produces it, wether it is to make heat or electricity. Too much of anything isn't good though. The argument for electric over fossil fuels or the internal combustion engine is this; It's incremental. One vehicle with one or two passengers or one household...

    Money for bad dishwasher board.

If the GE jelly roll condenser fridge is in a room kept clean, it only gets a little dusty, and occasional vacuuming keeps it from getting like the one in the video. I threw out the carboard cover because it tore after removing several times to vacuum. Now I don't have to pull the fridge from...
