    CNET 2018 speed queen review

At how many FP machines I have seen in the scrap appliance dumpster at the dump site I go to-think I WON'T buy a FP machine of any sort.   From what I've seen they generally last about 12-15 years without a problem. I know Glenn has had is for what, like 20 years?? They are very simple...

    CNET 2018 speed queen review

Speaking of F&P What the heck is up with the current pricing?!? I paid $799 for my machine last November and they are now selling for $1399-1699! That was from the local store I bought mine at and also online. The dryers are still the old price. I'm thinking it has something to do with tariffs...

    CNET 2018 speed queen review

I think the cleaning ability of the FP can be diminished because it only fills with cold water, except on the Allergy cycle. Other cycles use the recirculation pump before filling completely and that saturates the items with the selected water temp and detergent. They claim it aids in stain...

Have I not been giving this dishwasher enough credit??

Both are good machines, but like any, you need to load properly. I find that the vintage KA's are more forgiving because of their intense wash action. I can jam my full and everything comes out perfect. I use good detergent though, Cascade Complete powder...which now I have mixed with Fryer Boil...

    ~19yo F&P

I really like mine! Aside from the lame fabric softener dispenser that is. It's been a great machine so far.

Advice on purchase of new Food Processor

I have a classic design Cuisinart and I love it. Never fails! Best out there really.

    Powder HE detergents

Eddie you can order the PowerPearls from Target online. It's like just under $11 a bottle and they do ship to store for free. Not sure why they don't sell it in the store anymore.

    Powder HE detergents

Gain I'm using Gain powder and I really like it. Doesn't get too sudsy either, I was expecting that after hearing some reviews. It seems to clean well. It's rated last in the "Very Good" category of CR testing. So I figured I'd try it out.

Refurbishing a 1978 Kenmore belt drive.

Great videos Eugene! Thank you for sharing! I love those old belt drives. We had a WP one when I was a little kid in the late 70's. I remember standing on a chair and watching the WP logo go round and round LOL. Fun stuff.

    Cascade Complete packs

Yeah good point Glenn...I guess they are sudsy regardless...maybe it's more the wash action in older machines (more vigorous) that makes suds more a problem? The Frigidaire Gallery model that I had used very little water...probably at least half of what my Hobart KA uses.

    Cascade Complete packs

Yes they are a lot more sudsy. I've had the worst of that from the Platinum pacs. If you are using it in an older machine in particular, you will get a ton of suds. They are really designed for newer machines that don't use as much water.

New WP and GE stackable washer line up

Yeah I noticed that. I'd probably go for the GE model if I were to get something like this. Seems they have more user friendly options lol.

    Kirk's Speed Queen tr7 video

It's hard to say if Kirk's was a "better" machine. The notion that his machine had a different option, than Eugene's leads me to believe they updated them in some way, but....like others have said, I think this machine will do ok for marginally dirty items. Dirty stuff, forget it. Eugene's towel...

New WP and GE stackable washer line up

Good points Eddie...my neighbor actually commented too that she can't bend down that far LOL. Where they are, she can't have pedestals so that ruled it out.

New WP and GE stackable washer line up

Yeah i think so too...they are very popular in those scenarios. My neighbor just bought the small GE stackable (not these new ones). I asked her why she didn't get a front loader and she said it was because of her closet size. Granted she could have gotten a 24" front load, but she didn't care...

New WP and GE stackable washer line up

LOL. I much prefer a top loader. But I wouldn't rule out a front load for sure. I have just been saying for a couple years now "Why don't they update these things to match their other machines", and they finally did! :-)

New WP and GE stackable washer line up

I agree! My portable is pretty small at .9 cu ft so it's limited on capacity but it does a good job. I had really wanted a stackable top loader as opposed to a front load stackable and these new options are more intriguing. The older ones just weren't appealing to me at all lol.

New WP and GE stackable washer line up

I was browsing through my local appliance site and happen to see that GE and WP have updated their laundry centers to include their current top load washer setups. The WP variants still have 2 sizes. The smaller 1.6 cu ft is now based on their "imported" impeller design, like most portable...
