    Low temp dryer thermostats

There are some adjustable ones from White Rodgers that could be drop in replacements. They’re on McMaster or a site called supplyhouse.com https://www.supplyhouse.com/White-Rodgers-3F05-1-3-4-Snap-Disc-Fan-Control-Temperature-Range-90-to-130-Degrees-F-Includes-Tab-to-Screw-Terminals-14699000-p

And what did GM do besides design a crazy interesting mechanism and washer that could wash shockingly well, while having the fastest spin cycle of the era?

    GE Washers Exploding

A lot of these oiling ports are used at the point of production and meant to be sealed “for life.” If you want to pump oil or grease in there, that’s fine, but all the washers of my relatives went 20+ years with no oiling.

    Whirlpool Design 2000...

While the WP “super duper advanced technology” of a ratcheting auger was a better performer than a Newton Maytag with a one stage agitator, Maytags are perfectly adequate when loaded properly. We had a Maytag growing up and it lasted till the mid 2010s. As long as it wasn’t stuffed and you set...

Whirlpool and Samsung are reducing the maximum spin speed on their washers

You said you would never own one without a heater. I’m telling you most do. Just because not all cycles don’t use it, is irrelevant. The heater is there. Use the cycles that use the heater then. Hint: that’s almost every cycle besides the Normal cycle.

I think you’re as equally capable as I am of doing that.

Whirlpool and Samsung are reducing the maximum spin speed on their washers

Companies that want to use a “slower” motor the use a direct drive pancake motor that turns at the same rpm as the front load drum. I’m quite shocked that members here are not familiar with the belt and pulley setup of a front load washer. I’ll do the homework for y’all again. If that that...

    Whirlpool Design 2000...

What exactly was SO advanced in Design 2000 that the Maytags didn’t already do? Neutral drain? Wow…. Dual action agitator? That already existed. Directly couple the motor to the transmission? I fail to see how that’s an “advancement” when good Maytag belts could easily last 20yrs. Design...

Whirlpool and Samsung are reducing the maximum spin speed on their washers

Guys. Guys. C’mon now. The motors that reach 17,000-20,000 rpm are only motors in front load washers with a very large reduction from the belt that goes to the motor and drum pulley. This is because in order to spin the drum at say, 1,200 rpm, with a 12 or 14” diameter pulley. And a motor...

    WAYMO Technology

I wonder, could you imagine, if Phillymatt went for a ride in his first Waymo, and it’s integral “kill circuitry” kicked in? Omg just imagine. ….

    WAYMO Technology

I can second that by how many people have tried to merge INTO me for the 12yrs I owned my RED Charger. The most visible car I’ve owned, and yet the one with the most of this risk. Very odd. Humans are odd.

    KUDD23 saves the day

I had ONE reject from that whole load and it was the coffee mug in the upper left. Usually cups loaded in that fashion do fine because water recochets off the vessel in front of it. But in this load, the layout didn’t allow that to happen so the inside of the mug was a bit gritty. Everything...

    Thanksgiving

Oh idk, 40 and 36 here, and we host Xmas for 25-30ppl, 3yrs in a row now. It does help to have the dwelling to handle it. Maybe the other “young’ns” don’t host big parties because they’re all broke living in small apartments? All of my younger siblings and cousins are just NOW getting into...

    WHAT would YOU do?

You should run for office then and be the change you seek. I did. I joined my HOA and then was the president for 3yrs. It’s an eye opening experience when YOU have to run the place.
