Top load washers in the USA

Miele videos in #28 Amazed at total lack of rollover in the white round body model in the last video in the post. I'd hope that the engineer that designed that agitator got fired. And why did Miele even let that go to production, unless it was something marketed strictly for delicate washloads.

    Great ball washer!!

OK, get your minds out of the gutter--no this isn't in the wrong forum! I've lived across from a golf course for several years now, and have a habit of collecting wayward balls from lawns and farm fields nearby. I can't stand golf myself, but am to the point where I've got so many of these...

    The Need for Speed -Whirlpool

Any idea how old this is? You don't have a money shot posted to be certain, but I'm sure that's got to be of the direct drive era. I had no idea Whirlpool even made Suds Savers, under ANY brand, once they ended the old belt drive platform. I've got to think you've found a very unique machine...

    Early 60's(?) Kenmore Washer/Dryer - $100 (Fort Wayne)

hopefully going to get these... This is my 1965 Series 800 that I grew up with, and a 1961 dryer. Not as interested in the dryer, but if I'm going to drive to the next state for a pick up, I'll store it in case anyone has a 61 washer that matches it...

Persil Detergent now available at Shaws/Star Market

Meijer stores have it too I agree that the period of whatever agreement that gave Wal-Mart exclusive rights to it must have expired, as I saw a display of liquid at my local Meijer (Michigan based, regional chain) store. It was up near the front of the store, and I was on my way out, so I...

    Leaky Lady Kenmore Portable

Laundress - Parts Surplus Hello Laundress--I've recently acquired a Whirlpool compact machine that I'd like to keep running long term. I'd definitely be interested in the other pump (that geextrarinse doesn't take, if he does), and any other of your spare parts that you'd like to be rid of...

    Slowly making progress...

1966 Kenmores Todd, Thanks for the extra shots of the machines! There's something about the styling of that era that I really like... John L., Well, I'm not all that close to the east coast, but believe me, if I had the room for a more serious collection, I'd definitely be talking to you...

Looks Great!! Something I'd definitely love to do in the future when I have the space! Now a question--how about some more pics of the Kenmore pair in the 4th pic? I don't think I've seen that styling before. What vintage are they? Thanks!

Well, the decision was made about the new washer

After you shut the water off at the supply valves, turn the machine on to fill with warm, to relieve the pressure from BOTH hoses. You'll still likely have a small amount of water that will dribble out, but releasing the pressure from the hoses will keep you from getting squirted when you first...

    All New Whirlpool Cabrio

videos in reply #86 OK, I've never owned this style machine, and I've got to say I've never been impressed by the appearance of that style of operation. But after watching these videos, and understanding what I was supposed to be seeing (the "bloom" from the center), I'm mildly impressed...

Todd--the third cycle is permanent press. Although it doesn't have a slower spin speed, it still does a cool down sequence.

How old is my "new" Whirlpool Compact washer?

DADoES--thanks for the info on the age of my machine! I've not had a chance to see if I can adjust the positioning of the timer skirt yet, but if I can't change it, it's not the end of the world... Martin--I tend to agree with your theory on the spin speed being engineered to match the...

How old is my "new" Whirlpool Compact washer?

Just picked up a new addition to my little beginners collection, a Whirlpool one speed, three cycle compact. I suspect it's from the late 70's, but I'm sure someone has the detail to help me more precisely date it. It's a model number LFC4600W0, and serial number is J84912491. Also, the...
