Ralph, I love the taste of vacuum pot coffee. It is really bold and very hot. Much better than perk or drip coffee, I believe. Plus, these contraptions are really fun to watch!

Interesting Hi Ralph, The grounds go in the top bowl. As the water boils it is forced up causing the grounds to boil. The filter is either a glass rod or cloth and goes in the center of the upper bowl.

Hello friends... Would anyone on this forum know anything about this burner or how to check the wiring inside to see if proper contact is being made? One of my friends looked at it but he said he doesn't know what the problem could be. As stated before, the coils never get to the glowing red stage.

Hello, friends...this item will be here soon. I'm not sure, but it looks like I might need the rubber seal that goes in between the top and bottom part. I don't know as of yet but but I will see when it arrives. Does anyone know of any good resources for parts in case I need that seal?

Congratulations Ed Hi Eddie! I think the issue is that coils do not glow red and hot enough to start the heating/boiling process. I even left the unit plugged in for a long time but still no red hot coils. A friend of mine suggested that perhaps there is an issue with contact or loose wiring...
