Is it made in China like the Bosch branded ones?

    Top/Bottom Rack Only Washes

... what's the point if the savings are questionable... Because the average homemaker is ignorant and having small wash capability adds to the WOW factor and price tag. Other machines have "distributed" half load: you put stuff in both racks and run the machines with stuff spaced further than...

    Dishwashers Alternating Wash

It's not the weak pump but the reduced water usage. There actually isn't enough water to run both showers at the same time! Go figure that an "older" machine (say 1999) used 20-22 litres per water each cycle and had enough to pump in both arms at the same time. A current machine uses half that...

    Top/Bottom Rack Only Washes

On my machine I have the option of top only or bottom only but I can't be bothered to run it in that configuration, for two good motives: first it is always filled to the last available centimeter and second, power and water consumption are almost the same! Cycle times are a little shorter I...

    Hitachi big drum washer

Wow, as much as I like Hitachi air-conditioners, which I think are the best on the market, this machine sure is an eyesore! And doesn't self heat nor does any cycle in hot water! GROSS. Plus gravity drain?! What an oddity! But for less than 1700€ I think it might be a valuable purchase if I...

Grease covering brand new Speed Queen washing machine tub.

Yes but even if European manufacturers (and they all do!) recommend a hot wash when first running the machine the tubs in new washers have no grease in them! It's just leftover water from the factory tests and dirt from the production lines but definitely not grease!

    Electrolux/Zanussi Sealed/unsealed tubs

Since all the production was moved to the ex-REX/Zanussi plants in Italy none of the machine made by Electrolux have split tubs, they are all welded, from the 259€ Zanussi/Zoppas machines to the most expensive 1000€+ REX/AEG ones. All in all I wouldn't get one. And yes, Welling is Chinese...

They simply aren't spun or spun to a very low speed to preserve the machine as they couldn't be balanced.

Electrolux Washer Dryer - A Question!

7 years old only? I'd stick to that and ask for a quote!

Don't Do LG Topload Washer Recall Unless You Want Wet Clothes

Then why do laundromats have front loaders with such poor ex It's an overseas problem apparently! Here all the laundromats I've seen have machines with spin sped of 850-1600 rpm (circa 350G, depending on drum size!) What matters the most is gas and electricity use for drying, you buy 15...

    My New Washer

Gosh! You're having such a bad luck! It feels like you're cursed! :O But if the electric plug and circuit are all right I can only think of transients on the line that damage the electronics in some subtle manner!

    Whirlpool trash

None of which is free market driven CIT. "Same as goes for phosphates in our detergents, the incandescent light bulb, R12 refrigerant, and so on" So you'd rather live with inferior refrigeration equipment and polluting gases? New alternatives like R410A offer up to 100% better performance and...

Don't Do LG Topload Washer Recall Unless You Want Wet Clothes

700rpm is not the end of the world Are you sure?! To me 1200 rpm is a SLOW spin! But even if it was a small decrease (say from 1100 to 1000 rpm) I wouldn't have accepted it! And as said why stick with an under-performing machine?! People at LG have always been crap at dealing with post sale...

    Brightening vintage linens

CIT. "I have a friend with a vintage linen business who taught me that the most important part of the process is removing the old soap / starch and hard water residues. conventional detergent work better with a higher water level I'm sure it would froth even more because of the increased water movement.

    SHAVING: Hot Lather Dispenser
