Conventional electric ranges: the phase-out begins?

Pacemakers have come a long way with shielding built into them now. Some of them can even go thru MRI machines.

    My little bug

I just thought I'd share about my most recent endeavor to keep my car going. My 2001 VW Beetle TDI flipped to 341,000 miles back in July. It was still running the original clutch. One morning on my way home from work I stopped at a store one mile from home. Got back in the car and immediately...

    ~2015-19 Jeep Renegade...

My Acura MDX AWD with V6 gets 25 consistently, sometimes a little better on the open interstate. Love AWD! Works great in rainy weather too. Last year when we had that ice the Acura with its control never missed a lick and I tried to make it do it.

    ~2015-19 Jeep Renegade...

I love the renegade, I wanted one but reliability????? Nope! Fiat made in Italy. When I googled renegade complaints and problems a bunch came up...so I decided against it. Heck, Kia soul is more reliable and similar just no 4x4 option.

New Cascade commercial and Cascade Platinum Plus massively oversudsing dishwasher

We use commercial chlorine powder in our thirty year old kudi23 but occasionally use the newest top of the line finish pods and they don't over suds with our water softener. They clean well and make glass sparkle. I can't even use Miele detergent tabs due to foaming.

Mounting Stem and Boot Seal Kit Part #6-2095720 For a Maytag Model #LAT9605AAM

Maytag decided in their infinite wisdom that four bolts are enough and changed that later on but the trans is the same. Mine also has the eight bolts. It has silicone sealer around the perimeter of the trans cover from the factory anyway so I guess they figured it was enough and saved a few...

There is nothing like the fresh scent of clothing, dried outdoors

I love towels dried in the line. I like them scratchy and they dry better. But I don't have a line. My mother finally took hers down a few years ago too because it's simply more convenient to put everything in the gas dryer.

    Washing dishes by hand

Ditto that with the exception of my grandmother's cast iron cookware...and it never gets "washed" anyway. And nothing sticks in it.

You asked for a Horizontal-Axis Top Load washer?

Don't forget staber washers here in the US. But I have zero experience with them nor do I know anyone who owns or has used one. www.staber.com

    "overlock" sewing machines

I have a brother server I use mostly when I make scrub tops because it gives a professional look to the seams. Coworkers are amazed to find out I made them instead of buying them.

    Suggested replacement for Miele W1986?

I am curious too as I have the same washer but not the problem. I don't know what I will do when it decides to die because I love it and the fact it's a 240v machine.

Need recommendations on front load washer

I'm partial to Miele. I got mine lightly used and it's been awesome.

The Great Debate. Gas vs Electric Dryers

We've had both and prefer gas. My mom just had the option to go back to electric as she was replacing her Maytag stack with a WP Stack and both fuels are available in the closet but she stuck with gas also. For us it is faster than electric. My GE dries perfect almost every time on low setting...

Have you ever had an allergy to any laundry detergent?

I like sleeping in a cold room snuggled under nice quilts.. But I have a waterbed so it is heated nicely. My bedroom vent is the second one right off the main furnace duct so it gets a little stuffy in there in the winter so I have a tendency to partially close that vent when the heat is being used.

    New Whirlpool Front Load Washers

Big machines won't fit in my laundry closet either. I have to use smaller machines like Miele, asko, Bosch, or perhaps the LG model that's smaller, or even Electrolux. I hope I don't have to deal with it for a while.  Neither my Miele nor the Asko have any issues with sagging glass doors and...

Have you ever had an allergy to any laundry detergent?

64!? Oh heck no, I couldn't handle that. We keep ours on 72 in winter and that's a chilly compromise as I always kept it on 74 til Tony started andropause having hot flashes.  I absolutely forbid him to go colder than 72. He just has to take off some layers if he's too hot. I too use a heating...

    Miele w1926 suspension springs?

When I did my w1986 springs I used a car scissor jack and a piece of wood under the drum to lift it while I alone changed the springs. Didn't take me long. I don't know how the w1926 compares in size.
