Why Has Whirlpool Never Sold a BOL Power Clean Module?

A 3rd rack is nothing new, doesn't make machines more efficient, and as whole Whirlpool is falling behind. GE and Samsung have all released block buster products- like well thought out combos.

Why Has Whirlpool Never Sold a BOL Power Clean Module?

Modern dishwashers use more water than older ones, like 20 times more. Thats not progress. Neither are all the premature failures.

Inside the "new" Kenmore Roto-Rack dishwasher

Not a bad cycle at all. Hope the detergent dispenser can hold on the total pre-wash time without a gasket. Long main wash times, especially ones where the thermal hold is towards the start of the main wash make for great scouring machines. You have a good dishwasher here IMO.

Why Has Whirlpool Never Sold a BOL Power Clean Module?

American culture needs to change demanding their old appliances back. People who blindly buy, let the company become anything.

Inside the "new" Kenmore Roto-Rack dishwasher

Congrats! Do you know the cycle sequence and the length of each step? I've always been intrigued by these vertical reversing motor non fine filter dishwashers. Frigidaire still offered such a pump beast until the early 2000s on their half size dishwashers. I remember a BOL Kenmore...

Why Has Whirlpool Never Sold a BOL Power Clean Module?

Whirlpool has stopped innovating. They've fallen behind. Though I feel like they switched to European technology when they went with their manual clean filter dishwashers and tiny pumps.

Why Has Whirlpool Never Sold a BOL Power Clean Module?

Right, Whirlpool typically put their name only on what worked, not what was ultra cheapened and unreliable. Maytag had to sell, their name was finished and debt was piling on.

Why Has Whirlpool Never Sold a BOL Power Clean Module?

As did Maytag, the difference is Whirlpool turned it into success instead of failure.

Why Has Whirlpool Never Sold a BOL Power Clean Module?

Right, and the only got more successful. Whirlpool has made so many good moves its like they had a time machine all along where they could see into the feature.

Why Has Whirlpool Never Sold a BOL Power Clean Module?

I honestly wouldn't mind going back to a wash tower. I think Maytag's Jetclean version was solid.

Why Has Whirlpool Never Sold a BOL Power Clean Module?

I know Sears didn't sell on longevity. They sold on features. My point is that even educated customers like myself could be enticed into spending more with a side by side comparison. Should have clarified it better as to what I meant. I know HD does that with their Insinkerator Garbage disposals.

Why Has Whirlpool Never Sold a BOL Power Clean Module?

That is until the customer is educated. Then again, even a customer like myself could/would be enticed to spend more on a machine that is promised to lasts 40 years vs one the lasts 25 years. Sears was big on such games. They were full on bait and switch, entice you with a low end model and...

Whirlpool Dura Wash being cluelessly silly

That is a down side to machine that take in large food bits. I've found twist ties, glass, plastic wrap, and the like in power cleans. When you say air locking, what was the symptom and what was the cause? Did it go away on the next drain and re-fill?

Why Has Whirlpool Never Sold a BOL Power Clean Module?

My honest opinion I think Whirlpool should not have competed with GE, instead they should have tried to win over the low end consumer's market. I do agree, Maytag putting their name on anything besides the Jet-Clean was a huge mistake. Me personally, I'd honestly have given up the detergent...

Whirlpool Dura Wash being cluelessly silly

Honestly, I'd call most standard tub dishwashers tall tubs and most single rack dishwashers standard tub machines. The tall tubs of today don't exist in my world. What trouble did power clean machines give compared to dura-wash? Was it the timer? I never liked dura wash, it always left...

Washers, dryers, and dishwashers at Golden Haven Apartments

Last one. Rinse aid/detergent dispenser model. This sequence makes perhaps the most sense overall, very proportional, but you loose a final rinse. All pre-washes, pre-rinses, and rinses are heated as well as the main wash.

Why Has Whirlpool Never Sold a BOL Power Clean Module?

Whirlpool got it right with Roper. Roper might have been one, two or three cycles, temps built into the knob, single speed motor, two sped on high end models, no dual action agi, speckle tub, ect but they were all direct drive like their TOL machines. This is what capitulated Whirlpool to...

Washers, dryers, and dishwashers at Golden Haven Apartments

How do you like this? I included two pre-washes on the rinse aid and detergent dispenser models. Each increment is two minutes, so those segments not labelled with a time are roughly two minutes in duration. Since there is a pre-wash, the initial water temperature at the start of the main wash...

Washers, dryers, and dishwashers at Golden Haven Apartments

If everyone was like me, the Point Voyager would never have sailed. The boil the frogs scheme would have never worked, and the Power Clean would still be here today. The Power Clean is one of the very few dishwashing mechanisms ever created that managed to clean un-rinsed dishes to an immaculate...
