Can we solve a cold and windy problem?

Here's a cold update! I installed the hood called Broan.  I found that a lot of the draft was actually cold air going Around the duct, so I used the foam can to seal that up.  Some of the bricks fell off (the mortar was never any good) and the draft hood along with the damper in the hood itself...

    Garage Dishwasher

I have Ken Roar! It is an early 2000s Kenmore made by GE/Hotpoint that one sees in rentals.  It does ROAR!   I have used it for barbeque parts, roasters, broiler pan, drywall tools, other tools, and used it for dishes earlier but not anymore.     Chet, I think you would love him.

    Whirlpool 27 Inch Dryers

Dryer of Tomorrow, Today... Sounds like it should be on the Disney Carousel of Progress, if Chet does his GE transplant with the control panel.

GE 2800 On Facebook in MI

Ken-Roar! Chet, the KenRoar dishwasher made by GE in my basement does Roar!  I use it for things like broiler pans and roasters and barbecue grills that I would not use the kitchen dishwasher for.  John is right about this one!

If speed queen added dishwasher to there line of products would you buy one?

Maybe Hobart? On Facebook I have seen ads for Hobart undercounter dishwashers like would be found in a nursing home, but with a second rack and it looks like it is being used in a home.     Perhaps Hobart is trying to find out if people might be interested in a fast dishwasher for the home...

    Maytag to GE Console Adaptation

Chet are your a retired engineer? How else would you have time to come up with these concerns?  Maybe you should look into getting more fiber in your diet too.     So far, you have not answered Freddie Mercury and WHYYYYYYY!!!!?!?!   Often when comforters come out slightly damp from the...

Do I save Walter or let him go?

Are there any parts I maybe could "harvest" that anyone needs here who is working on Whirlpool machines?

Do I save Walter or let him go?

I know all of us like to repair washers and dryers and now I have to make a decision.  "Walter" is a Whirlpool direct drive washer from 1992 that I did several repairs on and had served my sister and her athletic husband for 30+ years.   She noticed that it no longer spins or spins very slowly...

Going to see a time capsule house...

I like the kitchen but the oven seems to be in an awkward place.  Could it be placed somewhere else?  Seems like a waste of space where it is.

Cute " Micro Mini" Washer/Dryer Combo Amazon

Why not just buy more Speedos, they dry up fast!

Do you use heated dry on your dishwasher?

This time of the year... Definitely heated dry!  The heat is not wasted in a chilly kitchen.   Related to this, I have Bosch 100 series Premium and there is no vent for the humidity.  The moisture is supposed to condense on the walls but there is insulation on the outside (which I like) but...

Would an old Maytag A-series washer really do this?

Betty Draper's older Maytag did that too.

    Westinghouse D6 “Timer Control Thermostat”

You would think the electrical engineers at of all places, Westinghouse, would know that voltage could be high and design to tolerate it without burning up.

Can we solve a cold and windy problem?

Actually, we at one time did have a duct outside... You know how sometimes a builder will create a return duct by enclosing a joist space with the plywood floor and drywall ceiling?  Our builder cheaped out and had an opening onto the front porch roof, sending cold air right into the furnace. ...

Can we solve a cold and windy problem?

Like many kitchens, in my house we have a range hood above the stove that exhausts to the outside right out the back.  It is cold today, and I just noticed, it is drafty with cold air coming in.  There are two aluminum flaps that close, one on the hood itself and one on the part that sticks...

    PotD 11/20/2024 - Old-Fashioned Center-Post Jerk-Jerk Agitator

Our neighborhood had Westinghouse people... So I might have an explanation.  Westinghouse was a big employer here in the past and WH employees could get discounts on the appliances.  The research laboratory facility even had its own Westinghouse appliance store where employees could shop.  When...

My trusty 45-year-old Maytag A608 has a new leak!

Might be possible to rig something... First, I would soak the hose and the other parts in a tub of vinegar, maybe even run them through the dishwasher afterwards.  All this to remove the crust.  Take the assembly to an auto parts store and see if there are any heater hoses that are similar to...
