    Whirlpool motor wiring question

Got the wires moved over (had to move L1 over to the right, L2 to the left), now just have to plug it in to see if it’ll work.

    Whirlpool motor wiring question

More so just to see if the motor will work, along with the auto dry features possibly.

    Whirlpool motor wiring question

The machine is essentially all back together, though need to figure what terminals need to be moved over for 120v operation.

No worries, it happens to us from time to time on the forum, various groups. Should have some form of evidence, but would be like trying to squeeze blood from a stone since one’s information is always changing hands about every hour of every single day. At that rate, would have a better...

The most stylish "Cadillac of washers"?

The 1970’s were not a good era for GM or Chrysler. I’ve never seen a 1971 to 1976 Chevy Impala in person, let alone one from 1974/1975. Haven’t seen many Chrysler cars on the road from that era either. I’ve seen far more Fords from that time period on the road in the 2000’s and early 2010’s, my...

As soon as you get a email about a package arriving even though you didn’t order anything, it’s a scam. Always am skeptical when I receive an email or text about something I didn’t order etc. Literally was getting quite a few spam calls awhile back, didn’t even bother answering. I think they...

This is basically why I use an alias last name on Facebook and other social media sites since I’m very careful with what information I put out there. Never know what kind of wackos are out there, definitely knew a few people who were like that in my high school years sadly and honestly don’t...

If Robert didn’t sell the forum off to someone who would keep it going, the site would have died off and lots of useful information would have gone up in smoke. I can’t tell you how much I’ve learned by going through the archives, even re-reading various threads in the archives in regards to the...

    Maytag Neptune TL FAV9800AWW

Finding parts for a Maytag Neptune top loader is more difficult than finding parts for 1966 to 2006 Maytag Helical machines. If something was in production for many years and was popular, it’s going to be fairly easy to find parts. But when you have something that was a niche product and was...

    Whirlpool motor wiring question

That’s what I might do. It appears that I got the to wires for the heater circuit correct, along with wire 5M. More than likely wires 4M and 6M may need to be reversed if they aren’t correct. Will have to convert it over to 120v since I don’t have 240v available in the garage.

    Whirlpool motor wiring question

Hello all, this is my first thread in the Imperial forum index on the ‘new’ AW site. Awhile back, I created a thread in regards to the older vs newer Whirlpool 29” dryer motors on the old AW site, almost done with the Mark 18 conversion to my Whirlpool dryer. While I did check to make sure...

    Hot Wash Cold Rinse Cycle?

There are some benefits to cold rinsing (permanent press/knit etc), but for whatever reason, items fell softer when rinsed in warm water with some fabric softener. Since I’ll have two TOL sets (My Maytag 806 and Whirlpool Mark 18 set) that allow me to manipulate the controls and options, will...

    "The Last Word" – Whirlpool's 1961 Ultimatic - 16mm Film

From what a gather, porcelain cabinets were an option. My Whirlpools from 1963 have porcelain tops, but not a porcelain cabinet. Think some Kenmores of the era were the same as well.

    "The Last Word" – Whirlpool's 1961 Ultimatic - 16mm Film

If I remember correctly, believe John or Tom mentioned these had as many moving parts as a Volkswagen of the time period.

    2010 TC vs 2023 TR3?

Good thing is the washer does a fast spin on the intermediate spin which spins out the soapy water/detergent which results in better rinsing performance.

The most stylish "Cadillac of washers"?

I’d have to say the mid to late 50’s Kenmore TOL automatics with the gaudy styling and the amount of chrome they had. Whirlpool was a little more conservative with their styling but still had some chrome.

Got new appliances after 18 years

That’s the thing people don’t understand, sometimes parts for newer stuff is obsolete after a couple of years while some parts for older stuff is still on the shelf since they knew it would get to the point where everything is junk from the get go. People can try to convince me all they want...

Site layout/navigating the ‘new’ AW site

Just hope the layout is reminiscent of what it once was at time marches on. Use this site for technical information, currently in the process of trying to get these going again (at least the dryer), along with tips and tricks to make a diagnosis a bit easier.
