    GE Wonder Kitchen Center dishwasher

Glad I could help, Justin!  I got the manual a couple of years after I installed mine and I made more than a few boo-boos ....  BUT the 56 Wonder Kitchen is still functional after all this years and mishaps!!

    GE Wonder Kitchen Center dishwasher

Congratulations, fellow Wonder Kitchen owner! Justin, your dishwasher and the main part of the Wonder Kitchen is one of the first from 1955!  The date code "M" in the dishwasher model tag is GE's code for the year 1955.   I could write a thesis about these dishwashers... I have a standalone...

Maytag Washer and GE Dryer - Carlysle Illinois - $50

Pictures for reference - the washer appears to be a 1970s model and I'd have to guess early 80s for the GE dryer.

    GE Dishwasher

1920s vinytage, eh? I'm surprised that 18 inch avocado dishwasher from the 20s is priced so low....surely the seller must realize "these go for thousands on eBay"....  Oy....l

Rhode Island Rescue part 1 - The Frigidaire DW CIUK dishwasher

First wash test Hardly a Bob-Load but I selected a lot of cooking utensils, pots, pans, and bowls - the Pots and Pans cycle did an impressive job!  The main wash in this cycle runs for 32 minutes, with boosted hot water.  No dry cycle, but trust me, everything in this load was hot hot hot, so...

GE and Hotpoint Dryer Timed Dry Cycles

Yes!  On mine, the original installation instruction sheet is still pasted to the back of the cabinet and it explains what to do to make the dryer run on 120 volts.  I don't have the user instruction booklet for the dryer but it also is likely mentioned there too.    I do believe on my...

GE and Hotpoint Dryer Timed Dry Cycles

Here's an example of GE 'tapping in' to the 120-volt market.  An ad for the 1957 GE Clothes Conditioning automatic dryer (I have this model, but in white).

If Appliances Were Like Cars In Cuba

My laundry room has been described like "Cuba but with washing machines" by friends  LOL

    Hotpoint Pair

Yep.  The timer knob for the washer is indeed missing.  This seemed to be a common problem with the dials of this era, unfortunately.   I think I have a spare in my timer parts box if anyone goes for this!

Rhode Island Rescue part 1 - The Frigidaire DW CIUK dishwasher

This last series of pictures were taken this past Sunday afternoon when I moved the machine down to the basement in Ogden.  I had to remove the old-style copper water pipe connections to the water valve and get an adapter elbow to be able to (eventually) install it in St-Liboire.  I only got...

Rhode Island Rescue part 1 - The Frigidaire DW CIUK dishwasher

I managed to get this short video as 'proof' the timer was now advancing, but trust me, I did several tests of the various cycles and functions, including the rapid-advance "cancel" option.  The timer was now working correctly once again!

Rhode Island Rescue part 1 - The Frigidaire DW CIUK dishwasher

More pics - details of the timer repair I hope these pictures will work on the site; I've jiggered them to hopefully display in the correct orientation.     I tried to 'document' as much as I could about how the timer motors from this 66 DWCIUK dishwasher were revived.  The issue with the...

Rhode Island Rescue part 1 - The Frigidaire DW CIUK dishwasher

Update - The Frigidaire Custom Imperial has been revived! I'll apologize in advance for the lack of pictures, but I cannot upload directly from my stupidphone and the picture orientation may be wrong (that effin' phone just may the first thing I run down a recently acquired NIB GE...

Lovely Ironrite 95 In Gorgeous Avocado

That was repainted.  Avocado wasn't part of the appliance colours pallette back when the IronRites were on the market.

    Road trip!!

Last but not least.... A 1957, Sheer-Look, Control-Tower WI-57 Blackstone BA250... but in white....  OK, all kidding aside, THIS was a real find because I just happen to have a fully-functional 1957 Frigidaire Control-Tower dryer to match it!  Some more club history here:  this is one of the...

1950 GE Stand-Alone dishwasher The only one I could easily find the model number for... it's a CBE-748-G16.    This machine turned up in a FB group I belong to (Thank you posting this, Chuck!!) and I had been planning on rescuing this from the home where it had originally been installed...

1957(?) Youngstown Kitchens 30-incher A "unicorn" machine for me...  The house in the Montreal suburb of Pointe-Claire where I lived most of my life had one of these in the kitchen, however it had been removed by the time we moved into the house.  I knew of one neighbour who had the Youngstown...

    Road trip!!

1957(?) Westinghouse Wash-Well dishwasher This one came from a fellow aw.org member in Arkansas.   It's going to need some messing with but I've always wanted a Westy pull-out dishwasher.  I'll need to do some digging for service information.  I'm hoping the restoration will be fairly simple -...

    Road trip!!

Rescued! 1961 Waste-King Universal dishwasher I found this one first...  It was being sold off in a house demolition sale, IIRC, along with a pink cooktop and oven.  Amazingly, the door is a 'custom' wood paneled one! This one is going to need a good cleaning for sure, but per the condition of...
