Dexter does make nice washers, and those look very nice! I did find it ironic on the Maytag, that it said For best washing results, don't open lid once started. LOL.

How old is this machine, and did it just start making this noise or has it done it all the time? It is definitely something to do with the drive mechanism, possibly the idler pulley? I wouldn't think it was the transmission because that is usually more of a grinding noise than a tick.

I don't forsee this lasting long at all. The 2018 model is going to be such a flop that they are either going to find a way to go back to the gearbox machines, or use a mode shifter. I see changes coming there way in the not so distant future!

These were great. Now can somebody help me out, there was a pic posted on here awhile ago of a belt drive Whirlpool laundry. I believe they were harvest gold machines. I'd have loved to have gone to such a place! I loved all of the old unit heaters in these pics too.
