Really want a vintage gas range but afraid....

Kidde Carbon Monoxide Alarm I recently installed one of these (Kidde unit), not for a gas appliance but in a room where there is a wood burning stove installed. The instructions specifically state that it has a life of 10 years and should be discarded after that time.

    Philips Appliance Brochure Late 1970s

Louis The timer knob was on the left on all UK manufacture machines I think until at least the launch of the Series 90 models in the mid 1980s, I cannot remember if they had the knobs on the left or the right but I am thinking it was the right hand side

    Philips Appliance Brochure Late 1970s

Extra 2 There was also a sheet for the Philips AWB080 Variotronic washer which must be from 1978. This marked a flip flop on Philips production. Previously top loading X axis washers (including the one shown above) where manufactured in Halifax, UK and the "conventional" front loader in France...

    Philips Appliance Brochure Late 1970s

Extra 1 There were a couple of extra sheets included The first, dated May 1974, for the introduction of permanent magnet motors. 1974 seems to be very late for a top mounted powder dispenser

    Strange vintage portable washer

Monitor lifted their design from Hoover's 0308 Far be it from me to contradict Laundress but it is much more likely the opposite. There has been a story that Charles Colston (who set up and ran Hoover UK) got the design of the 307 from Eastern Europe designs post WW2 but another says that he...

    Spanish Singer model

PS Does your clothing have what looks like a wash tub with a number inside it on the label with the washing instructions? If so, these can be related back to the cycles outlined above Al

    Spanish Singer model

Evelyn It is highly unlikely you will get any information from the UK, Fagor was never a popular brand here. However it is possible to derive the information you need with a little bit of trial an error. This machine largely predates the use of liquid detergents in Europe so you may need to buy...

Two stunning washers for my twinnie collection

Latham Austin Going by the Which report which references them also being sold as Duomatic I am presuming they are similar in concept but more directly related the the earlier Dutch design. If you refer back to the extensive twin tub thread a while back it emerged that there were two designs...

Two stunning washers for my twinnie collection

Coronet Having checked back on our Which reports I have found a similar machine in their report from October 1967 - as noted above this machine was sold as a "Special" by several electricity supply authorities - the report notes that this model was also so as the Emelec that you have referenced...
