    NEW WASHERS?

Thanks for the posts I prefer 240V washing machines. They heat the water more quickly than 120v machines. My LG, overall a wonderful washer that ran on 120v, took more that 40 minutes to reach the highest temperature available (70oC) before its circuit board got fried. My Miele 1340...

    Philco-Dexter TT WW

Good Lord! I've always wanted one of these; actually the only Wringer machine that I would ever consider because of the advantage of moving the laundry from one tub to t'other.   Alas, the ad says "As is" which means, usually, that it's not working and the last thing I need right now would be...

    NEW WASHERS?

Are there any new washing machine brands out there? I was always hoping that Panasonic/National would start marketing their wonderful Front Loaders in the US.

    Picture of the day...

You got it Nemesis! I have this model as one of my daily drivers.   What I like about it is: <ol> <li>The Frididaire-ish front panel.</li> <li>The WOOLENS cycle with my favorite combination of SLOW wash speed with FAST spin.</li> <li>The larger mini-basket in white plastic (that was a lucky...

    Garage Dishwasher

What they said I've been using two GE Mobile Maid TL dishwashers for exactly these purposes. Absolutely great for trash cans, some tools, lawnmower parts and anything else that I want really clean but nowhere near the things that carry and/or serve food. I prefer machines where I can shut off...

Year and Make of this Maytag Set?

I think I see an automatic cycle That dryer dial looks like the one for the D408. There was an A206 in a house I rented; terrific little machine.

Finally found a telephone dial whirlpool dishwasher

Aferim! What a beautiful machine. I always liked those Whirlpool top racks that held the glasses in an extreme enough "leaned-over" position so water wouldn't pool in the bases.     What's the tub made of?

1963 Westinghouse DBD-30 dryer in MINT AQUA!

Aferim! What a beautiful machine.   What is the surface of that dryer drum? Porcelain enamel? Baked Acrylic? Paint?   Are there people out their somewhere who can resurface real porcelain enamel?

    Neptune Drying Cabinet by Maytag

Always liked this design Too bad it's no longer made and parts are NLA.   I tend to air/drip dry a lot of my laundry and I always appreciated the efficiency of this thing where it utilizes the dryer exhaust to dry stuff that's hanging or laid flat.

    early GE Washer

I don't think so. I offered her twice what she was asking if she would cooperate in a pick-up with a shipper. I also asked her to post some pictures of the inside. She sent me a confusing message asking me where I lived and how I would pay her and then a second message that just said GONE.  ...

    early GE Washer

I want this one despite my promise to stop collecting... I'm trying to get this machine; I have the matching dryer although not in turquoise. I asked the seller for a little more information on the "seal" issue. We'll see.   Tom, your explanation of the Filter-Flo system is spot-on, including...

    Today's POD

Look for them only in ads for they are Gone with the Wind. Everybody needs to reset their Way-Back machines. When the Great GE Borg Collective assimilated Hotpoint, yes, they re-engineered the Filter-Flo system to flume into a lint recirculator lint filter, much like the one on the AW-6. In...

1968 GE Programmed Washer and Dryer

1968 offered two different Programmed TOL's. They were in the brochures.   I have been looking for that Straight-6 Black agitator for my collection. If you ever decide to sell parts, please let me know.
