    Kenmore Hang Dry Speed

Well, Chet: I learned what letters did what on a Kenmore machine, or maybe Lady Kenmore, so I put them in appropriate spots, though quickly ran out... A spare would be nice, but extra plumbing and electrical would be needed or the muscle to swap machines would be an impossible... I neeed the...

    Westy Rollout DW

What year was the last Westy Rollout? When exactly was the first?   Or if it started out that way, the first drop-down door Westy?       -- Dave

Hardwick Gas Range - anyone recognize?

Nice looking range & I don't think I'd seen a 36" gas range like that since the early-to-mid-'90's...       -- Dave

    Kenmore Hang Dry Speed

Yes, it was a cool machine and did everything...   Only wonder why it lacked only a fabric softener dispenser...   Hardly needed any major repair work, and we actually parted with it perfectly running because my daughter had guinea pigs and she wanted a Pet-Pro Maytag...       -- Dave

    Kenmore Hang Dry Speed

Well now I really miss my old Kenmore that had that speed combo, and I used it I think for work clothes and uniforms... My washer also had the Handwash that one-bettered the Gentle agitation, offering Intermittent speed wash and still a slow spin... -- Dave

    Cold Wash Warm Rinse Cycle

Reply #13: I meant I had to use the Hot/Warm combination in order to obtain a Warm Rinse with the Warm Wash only available with a Cold Rinse in my post... Must not have made that clarified... So I hope this helps! -- Dave

    Cold Wash Warm Rinse Cycle

Yes, I see... Never thought of doing a cold wash on any of my machines, then returning to it to switch the rinse to warm--never did that type of washing... But I did have a washer without a warm wash/warm rinse combination... An almond early-'90's Maytag built like the later-'80's models... I...

    Cold Wash Warm Rinse Cycle

Well I don't see why this shouldn't be discussed... If you have certain fabrics or want to make this a personal preference, then why not... Interesting to learn if it was ever natively offered with any washer as standard settings or you luckily can set on whatever machines ever offered...

This seems to be its headquarters or what's left of & why such a small building facility? But it's permanently closed... -- Dave

    Western Auto dishwasher

Ah, yes!   It would not surprise me to find that and whatever other appliances like that under the Grant's Bradford name...!   My dad worked for them...       -- Dave [this post was last edited: 3/18/2025-09:02]

    Corkscrew Agitators

    White-Westinghouse actually had a dual-action, I'd seen in an ad:   The Dual-Action Penta-Flex...       -- Dave

    Corkscrew Agitators

I miss my corkscrew agitatior and a Kenmore direct-drive was where I had mine... Sears used them on their Kenmore-line first, then Whirlpool acquired them, and I think when the direct-drive got introduced... I am pretty sure my new 2-year old Maytag has a regular agitator and the entire tub is...

    Western Auto dishwasher

Never heard of Beam, what pother appliances and for whom did they make? Very rare, to me, to see anything Western Auto that's a dishwasher, which does look Montgomery Ward-ish in design...       -- Dave

    9-Millionth Maytag Washer - 16mm Film

This was also a time for the underdog brands, too...   Frigidaire, Kelvinator, Gibson, Westinghouse, Hamilton, Franklin, Norge, Montgomery Ward Signature, Hotpoint, JC Penney and all the rest, no matter how over time became fledging, also got busy in the laundry wars making the best washers...

    Fast "High Speed" Burners

Yes, there's the Westinghouse Super Corox, or to me, Speed Corox, which I thought it was called, Frigidaire's Speed Heat, and the Speed Thrift on a recently seen JC Penney Penncrest... (made by GE, but I wonder if there was such on the manufactured for JCP, General Electric & Hotpoint ranges)  ...
