    Washer/Dryer Placement

If they sold this wall mounted washer in Canada, I'd consider buying one. I think it would be really handy for quickly washing a stained shirt which must be washed right away without having to do a full load. Could also be handy for dyeing clothing, or for special washes with items you don't...

    Would you wash at 20?

I find this entire thread a little amusing, but for good reason. North Americans can and do wash with cold water and we also have detergents which are specifically designed for cold water washing, but in Canada, "Cold" on our washers can actually be as low as 5 C. How anything gets clean, I...

2013 - New washing machines with warm rinse

Can you elaborate on this? Are you talking about top loading or front loading machines? Or just any machine in general?

Info on the ge topload washer with power rinse with its matching dryer

I don't know what province or city you live in. Your location just says "Canada". Why not just use the Dealer Locator on the site? http://home.huebsch.com/contact/locator/dealer.aspx

I had no idea HE washers worked this terribly...

You would almost think that HE top loaders were designed to get people to switch over to using front loaders....

Info on the ge topload washer with power rinse with its matching dryer

I owned a set of GE top loaders which I bought new in 2004. The GE washer was making strange creaking noises about 6 years after I bought it. My guess is that the struts holding the tub in place needed to be lubricated. Personally, I thought my GE didn't do a very good job of washing my...

more of a plea then a cry.

Dude, there are so many things wrong with that post. 1. UK power is 230 volts, 50 hz. American power is 120 volts, 60 hz. No way you'll never get an American machine to work on European power, even with a voltage converter, because the frequencies are different. 2. Washing machines in the UK...

    Maytag SAV2555AWW washer problem

I'd like to apologize for my previous post. I shouldn't have posted anything at all because I really didn't have anything to contribute other than my opinion. I was thinking about my post to this thread today and was thinking about how the OP must believe there is something really special...

    Maytag SAV2555AWW washer problem

You know, last night I was going to comment, but I thought I'd wait and see what other people had to say before I said it. I think in this case, the OP is beating a dead horse with a stick. If it really is a transmission problem, the washer simply isn't worth fixing. Unless, perhaps they have a...

    Staber

I agree Diomede. Staber really should have learned some lessons from European manufacturers. If I was in the CEO's shoes at Staber, I'd license a tried and true design which has been in Europe for a while and build it in North America. BTW, That is a beautiful machine. I love early 1960's...

    new belt drive whirlpools

One of the reasons why I really don't like plastic tubs is that (At least IMO) they can retain smells from the previous loads. Not really an issue with porcelain covered steel tubs. I would sooner buy a washer where the tub rusts out first before everything else breaks. That's what happened...

    new belt drive whirlpools

At first glance, it seems like a decent design.. But as soon as I heard "Mode Shifter", suddenly I recalled the large amount of GE mode shifter failure videos floating around on youtube. Even though these machines do have advanced technology, I don't like the large amount of plastic everywhere...

    Staber

If it wasn't for the massive amount of negative reviews I read about their machines, I would have considered buying one. I'm glad I didn't. They're certainly an engineering curiosity and very unique machines, but they are an excellent example of a good idea which I feel wasn't implemented...

New Whirlpool Front Load Washer Models

It's not a bad idea, a front loader with fan forced venting.. Probably there as a way to prevent mold from growing as a result of idiotic owners who keep the door closed after a cycle. Whirlpool has already had a lawsuit about this once already... Makes sense.

What made Norge VHQ so special?

As per the topic... What made Norge VHQ washers better than their standard lines? Was it just all marketing or did they really do something which made their machines stand out from the rest? Just was curious as a result of the last POD. Thanks.

AW Member Survey, Best Top Load Washer on the market today.....................

"On the Market" implies "New". My vote would be for SQ/Huebsch as well.

Correcting "dumbed down" hot water flow

Hey Tec. I do not advise doing that, that's actually against plumbing code. (At least, in Canada it is.) You need a proper mixing valve which prevents thermal siphoning of cold water to hot water and vice versa. A friend of mine had a portable washing machine which he used in an apartment...

    SQ AWN 423 User manual??

One thing I admit that top loaders really have over front loaders is the ability to soak clothing in a bath of water. I think this is a good choice, you also have the luxury of re-running portions of a cycle again due to the mechanical timer, if you want extra rinses. The extra rinse switch...

Grease covering brand new Speed Queen washing machine tub.

You know, I am absolutely astonished at the comments being made by the posters here. If you think you can design and build a better machine, do it. Or better yet, a lot of you live in the USA. If you want to build the best machine in the world, drive down to Ripon, WI and apply for a job with...
