Would you have a 5 year old Hisense fridge repaired?

We used to walk across bridges made of American Steel. Gradually, over time that steel became wooden boards. And now, we're tiptoeing over thin fiberboard..... and praying we survive.

    Number PULEAZE! Part Seven:

Wow Eddie! Excellent post! Sorry to hear about your struggled growing up, for sure I've had my own obsticles to deal with too. I could write a book, it would be as thick as an old phone book! And yes, I'm always telling people to "live within your means". Particuarly the younger crowd. My first...

    Number PULEAZE! Part Seven:

Hi Eddie, Isn't it amazing how inflation always goes UP? I figure that a good part of it is due to increased wages of the working person, among other things, like corporate greed. Mom used to complain about a $7.98 gas heating bill when she caught me turning up the thermostat! And phone service...

    Number PULEAZE! Part Seven:

Thank god our family never had any party line phone service. But when I started working after high school in 1971, I had "Ma Bell" install a phone line in my bedroom, seperate from the family phone. I wanted my own private number. Of course my parents were furious, but got over it, besides, I...

Would you have a 5 year old Hisense fridge repaired?

The first time I ever heard of the "Hisense" brand, I got a strong feeling that it was another made in china junk brand. In fact, a substantial number of those pop-up NEW weird brand names make me suspicious as to their quality. While those long-running famous established brands made in the USA...

    Number PULEAZE! Part Seven:

Sometimes I watch old reruns of All In The Family, it brings back memories of another world we lived in. Mom loved that show, I used to hear her laughing downstairs from my bedroom. I knew what she was watching on the tv. As for cellphones these days, Nah, I cling to my Old School ways, I've...

what happens on the Machine Care program on my Bosch Serie 8 PowerControl dishwasher?

The enormous Marketing of "miracle" products for just about everything always makes me suspicious of their actual value. I like to "keep things simple", and of course, that type of thinking saves me money, and I'm a frugal person, and I don't "buy into" products like so many others do. Do some...

    Even SQ has their issues

Who ever is controlling or "in charge" of the product should realize that the consumer is who pays his/her salary and sets the reputation of the company.

    Even SQ has their issues

Indeed! It's all about the "controlling" of society, like everything else. You want and desire to have control as you like it, yet the designers pick what you can do, because "they know better". To hell with listening to the public's needs.

Christmas in July: Surprise G.E. Filter Flo!

My mom's old GE FilterFlo lasted from when it was purchased new in 1963, up until 1972ish. I inspected it and found that the clutch was slipping, and oil or grease was leaking from the transmission. I was only 19 at that time and didn't want to go further with it, so for Mother's Day I bought...

I miss the days where washers and dryers where simple not to complicated

And my old 1985 Maytag pair has been in constant service since it was new. That old saying: "They don't make 'em like that anymore" sure fits.

    Even SQ has their issues

I watched that video, and am not surprised at all. Because SQ seems to have fallen into what other manufacturers have done.... The use of complex electronics that are unreliable. If I were them, I'd go back to the pre-2015's reliable old school mechanical controls/timers. Because they've...

Why Has Whirlpool Never Sold a BOL Power Clean Module?

I once opened the door on my Kitchenaid while it was running the prewash, a bit too quickly, to add another dish. And boy oh boy I got a nice hot shower for being that dumb! 😦

I miss the days where washers and dryers where simple not to complicated

There's an old saying...... "If it's not broken, don't mess with it" And for decades, this was the case for home appliances, among many other consumer goods. However, manufacturers just HAD to "mess" with things that were simple and reliable. They entertained such things as "innovation" and...

Why Has Whirlpool Never Sold a BOL Power Clean Module?

Jeez! I would imagine that the whole kitchen and you would get a messy bath! Pour a cup of CLR in from the beginning of the normal cycle and let it run to the end. It'll help break up any clogs in the lines due to hard water deposits. 😦

    Vintage Manuals up for grabs

I've been hunting the internet for a Maytag A482 schematic wiring diagram just to have, for any future issues. Plus, I want to "mod" it a bit to make it capable of having a "warm rinse" option on the normal cycle setting.

    Lid bypass

The lid switch is on the right side, and the narrow peg on the lid pushes the switch to close it and start the washer. Is there a reason why you need to do this bypass? I have a Kenmore that's identical to that machine, and I used a small screwdriver to override it for a test.

    Even SQ has their issues

To compensate for losses due to massive lawsuits and potential damage to reputations most likely.
