    Kirkland Washing Powder

My Bosch hates suds detergents. I don't think they put enough anti foam in detergents these days and it seems the suds only die down when the machine reaches a hot temperature.

    Spin Speeds

I found when I had a Hotpoint for a short time the 800 rpm speed was good because it spun for a decent amount of time. I usually use 1000 or 1200 on Bosch and is ample. Washing doesn't take long to dry in summer or winter with the central heating or log burner on.

    Tide HE detergent UK

Bought some Tide HE detergent from the American Shop online and found it quite good. Anyone else tried it? I have the original scent, 3 rinses in my Bosch and only a hint of fragrance when dry. Rinses well and low sudsing if you fill to line 1 or if items not that soiled.

the worst washing machine and tumble dryer you have owned

What Servis model was that @ Electron1100? I knew someone who had a Quartz 'Spectrum' and that was quite good considering the abuse it got lol. They were very heavy handed with the buttons and door!

    Spin Speeds

My Bosch has variable but top speed is 1200. The older hotpoints used to be 800 rpm didn't they and from what I remember washing took a lot longer to dry than what we have now.

    Ariel or Persil?

Currently out of Persil or Ariel which do you think is currently best?

    Spin Speeds

Is 800 rpm fast enough to get laundry sufficiently dry particularly cottons?

    persil granule liqui tabs

Just wondered has anyone tried the new Persil liqui tabs with the stain removing granules? Any good?

    Christmas Lights

Do you think plain multi coloured lights look as festive without their shades? The majority of lights don't come with shades anyway. I know some call shaded lights retro but I've always like traditional classic lights that never go out of fashion. Just wondered what most people thought whether...

    Rewiring loop construction Fairy Lights

Just wondered if it was possible to turn a loop construction set of fairy lights into a straight line conscruction? Some sets are on a loop and god knows why as it makes decorating impossible. Anyone ever tried rewiring?

Is it too early for a Christmas tree / decorations thread?

14-17th December up for me then 1st or 2nd January down. Never done the twelfth night thing. I absolutely love Christmas decorations and lights and am a collector though i have had to restrain myself from buying more as can't use them all. I like a few sets of outdoor lights. Would like a wicker...

    Pifco Fairy Lights

Id love to be able to find some of those Pifco Cinderella Lights although not my thing i know they go for a lot on Ebay. If only i could come across some. There must still be alot of these style of lights going about which says alot how well they must of been made.

    Pifco Fairy Lights

These are indoor only so obviously one would not use them outside. They don't half go for silly prices on Ebay. Some i have seen are over £200!

    Pifco Fairy Lights

Currently looking on Ebay at Vintage items and noticed a lot of Pifco fairy lights for sale. Just wondered if the old style single insulated cable was still allowed to be used as i have seen some light sets that have been officially PAT tested with date stamp etc. Was there a particular reason...

    Rinse Aid

Is there much difference in quality between using Finish Rinse Aid as compared to Aldi's Magnum? Finish can be expensive if not on offer but just wondered if it was worth buying branded rinse aid when unbranded does the same job for a cheaper price.

    Landline and Mobile Telephones

Despite being rural I find Vodafone and O2 the best for reception. Really not bothered about 3/4G as gone back to a proper mobile phone so don't need internet access. I never have found smart phones great for phone calls. I think when a device does too much it puts a lot of strain on the very...
