    I needed another dishwasher, right??

I just noticed that the color Poppy/Terracotta was just available on the Custom Imperial dishwashers on Steve's document while it was apparently also available on the Imperial on the other document I posted above (photo 3 of 4, "price list"). Strangely, on clothes washers/dryers...

    I needed another dishwasher, right??

The fuses were on ranges made in/or for Canada. In this case, the range was made for Canada but in Dayton Ohio. Most appliances were the same for Canada and the US but the ranges, cooking tops, wall ovens and clothes dryers had to be built to meet different codes. When Frigidaire products...

    I needed another dishwasher, right??

Bob, the appliances came from the same family (who used to sell Frigidaire appliances) and at some point they had been in the same house but Paul's dishwasher was now in another house. Poppy was a relatively popular color with many brands here in Canada but Frigidaire appliances from the...

60s sunny yellow Fridgidare gas dryer - Norfolk, VA

It's harvest gold indeed. I haven't seen many of the gas versions. All those I got were electric.

    I needed another dishwasher, right??

I didn't notice this model had a 150° wash option. I hope you'll be able to locate the missing button. I am also thrilled with the other 1977 kitchen appliances I got with you that day! I haven't tried the range yet but the fridge works fine and it's in nice shape.

    Tappan Reversa-Jet Dishwasher - Circa 1972

I like how the front rollers of the lower rack always stay on the door.

An ad for 1976 Belanger appliances

Tappan in Canada used to be "Tappan-Gurney" and in the seventies, the Gurney brand was later split from Tappan and part of Belanger (which had it's factory in Montmagny QC) and Tappan was a part of WCI (I don't know exactly when though). I don't know if they made Tappan appliances at the...

An ad for 1976 Belanger appliances

Oh, I think Paul told me he thought those machines were Blackstone. I just found another ad showing the dryer with the extra long door like Blackstone dryers. http://collections.banq.qc.ca/retrieve/5761952#page2 As for the side the door swings, I guess I'm just not used to it but I prefer...

An ad for 1976 Belanger appliances

I'm wondering who made the washers and dryers. I can't think of a dryer with a door like that with hinges on the wrong side (I mean on the Maytag side!). The washer lid looks a bit like those on Norge/Wards washers. Any ideas? You might need to scroll up a bit to see the machines...

Old ad showing John Inglis and Frigidaire plants in Scarborough Ontario

I just saw this Trane ad in a magazine that shows both Frigidaire and Inglis factories across the street. I also noticed that the SKF factory was very close. It's probably why some Canadian Frigidaire Rollermatic washers had SKF bearings in them. Now, almost nothing of this not-so-distant past...

    OH Lady be good.... please??

Paul, Since closing the faucets after every wash in St-Liboire isn't something you'd want to do with the current location of the valves, I think you should consider new fill valves for this machine! I'd be afraid of a serious mess caused by any kind of leak when you're not around for a few...

Vintage Countertop Microwave Oven CANDLE Model JM-5501 - $30 (THORNHILL)

I didn't know they made microwave ovens. I mostly remember Candle and Citizen branded clock radios like the one below that seemed to be everywhere back in the 1980s!

Introducing The Canadian GSD2800, the GSB2800

A friend of mine had a very similar if not exactly the same one in is house from 1985. Everything but the Jenn-Air cooktop was GE Talisman Royale in that house (including the filter-flo washer/dryer set in the basement) and the side by side fridge with black panels and self-cleaning wall oven...

    Floor drains

The refrigerators which could be moved with the blower from a vacuum cleaner were GM Frigidaire. It was marketed as a Canadian invention for 1965 models and US models had it the next year in 1966. In Canada, they even got portable dishwashers with a built-in blower motor and that Ride-Aire...

    Frigidaire Model Question

Kenny, the first "T" was for "Top freezer", models with a "V" were side by side models (Vertical), previously, there were also "B" models for "Bottom freezer". The second "T" in your example was the letter designating 1972 models. There were also weird models like "N-R" models from the early...

    Floor drains

Another thing that apparently isn't popular in Brazil is bathtubs. My sister's husband who's from Brazil told me he didn't think it was an appropriate way to wash ourselves in a bath! I told him I almost always take my bath but then I either fill it again with clean water to rinse myself or...

    Floor drains

My sister lives part time in Brazil and told me she had a floor drain even in the kitchen in her appartment! The only kitchens I have seen here with a floor drain are those in restaurants! I have one in my basement which is close to the boiler and water heater and I have one in my garage but...
