Had bearing, seal trouble with mine the next generation had a white control panel with speckled face. Best of luck, you may have well got one that is a good one. Everything is hit or miss. For the price you paid enjoy it without any regret. A
I agree about GE. If you go with the Kenmore take a look at what is available at K mart. They seem to have the basic$. Perfectly good inexpensive fridge for anyone. And it won't be a heartbreaker at replacement time.

Our Amana had the same seal failure @ 7 years in 2005. 1998 must of been the year of purchase, it had the grey tub guard as pictured. I remember the front panel was 1 piece not the 2 piece front as shown in reply #2.
