    Moderate priced pots..

On gas water will boil faster and not lose as much of the rolling boil for pasta with the heavier club aluminum pot. Magnalite  is my go to pasta pot, you will still need potholders the handles on the 6qt. are cast with the pot. Squatty shaped pots heat better on gas for boiling water.

The Never Produced DeRemer Automatic Washer

Interesting, looks like the balance ring is double chambered.  Does it also provide balance during the wash motion? I noticed the "Solar Corp" was cited in the patents, I think the same patent came up while researching the "Barton & Seeling" years of Speed Queen.  The patent did mention the...

    Whoa! TOL living

Wow!   I saw one of these in the D.H. Holmes clearance center in the early 1980's while stove shopping.  I really wanted it.  Only had money for the stove at the time.  The first house type of crisis,  wants and needs. Congrats it is beautiful.   A

    Dumb dryer question

Glen's reply #2 is exactly what Volvoguy described to me when he looked at my WP made (gas) Admiral.   Low heats at the same rate as high but the burner cycles less frequently, if I understood correctly.

Over 5 Years Later, I'm Ready to Run the Unused 1962 General Electric Filter-Flo

Robert, why yes indeed.  I think you will keep that bakelite activator and the filter pan unused.  I hope you decide to use the GE and enjoy it when you are ready. A

    Dishwasher threats

Our Tappan/Fridge dishwasher a BOL, has  minimal clearance between the bottom wash arm and rack.  I always give the wash arm a spin to make sure really narrow knives points are not blocking the wash arm.  Knife points up here.  All the knives go in the back 2 slots. No kids here and we are used...

    Gas logs and soot.

Yes the logs seem to draw vaporized cooking grease, nicotine if you entertain smokers. Fumes from Aerosol cleaners, air fresheners and deodorant also are like the moth to the flame.  I think it is much like when people used to paint in a home, with an older gas range the pilot lights would draw...
