Best Vacuum for High Pile Carpets

The hardwood floor craze has made many G series Kirby's available on Craigslist and Ebay very affordable.   Kirby's excel at zipping through wide open heavy traffic area's.   That said, a good canister with a motorized brush is needed for under beds and low furniture.

    Maytag Halo of Heat Dryers

One member here posted of a safety pin that somehow found its way into the HOH electric element.  Until the problem was solved I think it created a shock hazard.

Samsung's explosion woes continue as some washing machines blow up in the US

Reply #11,  All true.  Also early on Ladies tended to take extra care of an expensive new Automatic.  My Grandmother kept her WW for rug washing, Heavily soiled coveralls and the like. There was enough prestige to satisfy her with the Automatic doing the bulk of the weekly washing. A

    POD 9/29/16

This "blender" was probably more about mixing cocktails than serious cooking prep.  Another pretty appliance appropriate to serve at the bar or table?

WMF pressure cooker owners: is this brand new pot I got broken?

Vacerator, no disrespect intended.  This is a thread about using a pressure cooker for it's intended purpose. COOKING.  Not hateful, unfortunate world events.   A   edit:  Certainly you can start a new thread if you want to.

WMF pressure cooker owners: is this brand new pot I got broken?

Yes, send it back. I have a good Fagor  (heavier than hello), also a cheapo Walmart 4 qt.  both build pressure with enough water to cover that bottom of the pot, but still below the steamer rack.   Of course the pressure drops much quicker especially in the Presto when using the steamer set up. ...

POD 9-9-16 MAYAG AD IS A LIE

My mom had this model.  It could well of been mfr. during a change over period in the mid 1960's.  There was no light bulb behind the lens over the timer.  The User guide was the typical booklet of the time in a sturdy clear plastic envelope.  There was also a separate heavy paper with the...

    Antique-style Kenmore Range - Craigslist

IIRC,  you could also order the tall backsplash, with a warming oven on one side and  exhaust fan disguised in the opposite space.  Set up looked similar to a "Heartland".

Mod Shifter? What would cause this?

I agree with Malcolm. There will not be a mandatory shift to F/L technology. Most people will change out of frustration with the current TL offerings.  No doubt,  modern disappointing TL technology will continue for a number of years.  Lets face it, F/L's  wash better with limited water...

Old commercial/coin-op laundry--anyone have any pictures or info?

There is a great thread on the "Big Boy" from the 1960's, use searcholator. There are "Cook machinery"  brochures and many others,  See "Ephemera". I hope this helps.  A

    Flooded Laundry

I would have them checked by factory service. Through your homeowners and flood insurance.  You also have a year after the initial claim...just in case.  You never know the adjuster might junk them at the time of inspection.   Sorry  for that mess to clean up Mixguy.  Family and pets OK?
