    Paging the Hamiltons!

Kenny, that is a sharp looking, rare and very unusual set.  Hamilton dryers always looked like they meant business with the perforated drum and door window... Enjoy!   A

Tomorrow. Tomorrow. I Love Ya, Tomorrow.....

Best of luck with getting it.  We had the same one in black in our last house.  You will love it.   When those were brand new they were approx. $800.   A fair chunk of money in the late 90's or early 2000's.  We bought ours at the end of the run, discontinued and marked down.

    Maytag 806???

Cooper,  back in the day some mfr. gave you the option of  right, left, bottom, or back venting.  The white circular plug hopefully is in the hole on the back.   I think you take off the back panel and turn the vent the way you want it.  No doubt a collection of screw drivers will help out...

    Agitator

^^^  What Tinkr said.  If the "stop ring"  does not correct the problem.  There were wringer agitators on E bay.  Most people pull the agitator off the post at the end of the day and rinse everything down.  If your machine has a pump there should be a lint/ button strainer under the agitator...

Maytag, year, fair market value if I pick up? Thanks

Thanks to everyone for the information.  If it is still available I will probably get it.  The seller is in the park on the price.  They say it works. The usual story the dryer broke and they bought a new set.   I have not seen it in person yet.  A [this post was last edited: 6/1/2016-06:29]

"Radio Dial", is the perfect description of this model.  I always thought they had an expensive look to them. A

what's wrong with this Speed Queen?

I wonder if simply offering the dealer the option of a quick swap of the front panels, from the machine you returned?  The dealer might see this as working with him?   You could avoid corporate altogether.

    70s men's fashions...

"Saturday Night Fever" with "Travolta" brought a lot of this stuff mainstream.    "Grease",  a tad too close to the 1950's for comfort, although some nice looks.   "Urban Cowboy",  remember all the western shirts, tight jeans and cowboy boots?   There were  new generation's of movie hunk's by...

An "All Fabric Automatic" - Introducing the Servis Mk41H!

James, very nice to see the pictures. Congratulations on your finds.  I always enjoy seeing the machines marketed beyond the USA.  The Servis agitator looks to provide a vigorous wash action.  Your Bendix combo is nice as well, as you said the last of the older style machines.  Best of Luck.   A

    HELP Speed Queen Wringer

No expert, but the GM, had one of these. Something about the lever/dial that activates the agitator has possibly worked loose.  You almost need someone to operate the lever, so you can look underneath and see what it is not engaging on the transmission. Whatever this linkage pulls or pushes on...

    oooh oooh that stench.

10 years is not all that long to liquidate Sear's.  Once America's largest retailer and over 100 years to build.  Every 0.5 cent will be squeezed out.  Some prime locations have been sold for the real estate then leased back by Sears.  OP is right imho,  there will not be a thing left to sell. ...

New Speed Queen front loader video!

Thanks for the video, DanMan.  I think terry towels with any detergent tend to suds up a bit and it is deceptive the longer it washes the more it suds.  I would be willing to consider that when you repeat with sheets or clothing  you will not have the suds froth that towels create.  That is a...

    Maude and the dishwasher repairman

Yes, Walter did own an appliance store.  In one episode there was mention of a vagrant  relieving himself in a "spin drier", on display in the store.   I don't remember if it was a way of  tackling  homeless issues in the 1970's.   Maude had  "Florida" and "Ms. Naugatuck" (sp.),  I don't see...
