I bought a new GE side by side in 1999 ( ALL DIGITAL ) high end model, and it worked fine, ice maker and all, until 2011 when the circuit board "went" . It was the compressor relay on the board but i just slapped a new $120.00 board in there, 5 minutes and she's still purring today. Ice maker...

It's possible that the display has nothing to do with the actual temp. and is only indicating that it's set 4 below whatever the default is. Read your manual carefully.

Yea, if i'd have ever been able to get the specs. on the original Westinghouse compressor i'd have all that, HP BTUs. etc. That would be nice. Somebody out there probably has the specs. by refrigerator model number but i've never heard tell of it. Then again i haven't tried in the last 10...
